They have been working for about 4 weeks now. I think they are working. I have recommended it to the heighbors because that is where the voles went.
Works well, no moles seen since I put it in
The moles came out in force a few weeks ago. We already had some mole deterrents such as this but after 3 years, they have started to work only intermittently. Tired of the Moles tearing up my yard and displacing/stealing my dirt, I ordered 3 of these for our backyard and moved the intermittently working ones to the side yard. They seem to be working so far, had them for a few weeks. The backyard doesnt havent any new holes or mound however, it now seems that the Moles are mocking me, they have moved to the side yard and dug up the area BETWEEN the older repellants there! Now it seems I will have to order a few more....BTW, we have a Shih Tzu and then her friends (another Shih Tzu and a Beagle) and these dont seem to bother them at all.
I got 4 of these, one for each direction of my house. They do work but they must be put ALL the way in the ground. These vermin are deep tunneling and eas roots, so they can't work if if they are barely placed in the dirt. We put them in and there's less than one inch from the top base to ground and have had no more problems.
This works, but it takes a lot of them unless you don't have obstructions; like fences, garages, trellis and other things that block the signal. I will buy some more in the spring to go on the other side of my house and garage.
When an acoustic repeller is first installed it attracts the attention of the burrowers, which accounts for the initial increase in activity. However, they soon get tired of the constant bursts of noise and move away. Disclosure: I've used the ExHart battery-powered repeller with great success for years but not only are they twice the price (w/o batteries) of this one but they consistently fail after about three years.
The invasion of my lawn seems to have stopped. The King Mole must have told his followers to find new ground.
This product does not only work to repel moles by itself, I put two of them near each other and it still didn't work. The mole is tunneling right around them and not leaving.
I ordered this from the Walmart website but it is sold and shipped by another company. The repeller seemed to work as expected as I could hear the sound being emitted. However, after one week the repeller stopped working. I contacted the company to obtain return authorization only to find out that I would have to pay return shipping and the original packaging must be included. Well, I don't keep packaging after an item seems to work, so I guess I am out of luck. Steer clear of this and buy from a reputable store with a better return policy.
These just flat out do not work, everywhere we put these the mole activity has not decreased but everyone of these has mole tunnels circling around each mole so called chaser, we have had electronic mole chasers that worked before they emitted varying sounds with different random pulses these repeat each time the same pulse over and over that does not seem to deter a single mole. I used my roller and rolled the yard flat looked great ,before placing these but the moles seem to enjoy them there are tunnels from everywhere, regardless as to where the moles enter the yard directly to these. Maybe it is like a spa for them at least they are located to a designated area now. If the ones we had before were totally water proof they would be fine that is why we ordered these because they are sealed, the old ones were aluminum shaft and worked excellent during regular rain but the first heavy seasonal rain they flooded out.
