Grandkids loved it. A fun and different way to color eggs.
This was a ton of fun. It seems like kids really can't get enough of the baking soda/vinegar reaction, no matter how many times we do it. This was a fun combination of art, science, and Easter fun. It seemed like it was much more an experiment than it was dyeing. I appreciated that there were instructions to add baking soda to the dye to stretch it out. We were able to do 8 eggs but you could do many more. We lumped extra baking soda on top of the eggs to get a better reaction. Eggs with less baking soda bubbled but didn't erupt, so the kids enjoyed adding more baking soda or vinegar to figure out what would make it erupt. The egg dipper was too short, so we had to stick our fingers on the egg to help get it out and that wiped some of the dye off the eggs. Wiping off extra baking soda that remained after eruption also wiped dye off. These two things were disappointing. Some of the eggs came out pretty, and others not so much. This would be much better if it came with child-sized gloves. There are 2 adult-sized pairs, and the kids really needed smaller gloves to make this less messy. The only thing they didn't like was how messy the egg "painting" was with the dye/baking soda solution. The stickers didn't stick very well, but they weren't concerned about it.
My grandkids had so much fun.. the mess was easy to clean, it was all last minute but Walmart made it happen so thankful
I have a 10 year old and a 4 year old, both LOVED this egg dying kit. It was so much more fun that just putting eggs in cups and waiting. It does come with 2 sets of plastic gloves but it would have been nice if one set was a kid size. Vinegar wasn't included but is needed to make the volcano erupt.
This is a super fun activity to do with our kids for Easter! Just seeing the box was a great "wow" for my daughter! Doing the coloring was super fun and educational- since we could talk about chemistry a bit! It is for sure something that we are doing the same for next year!
The “PAAS Easter Egg Decorating and Dye Kit , Eggsperiments Active Volcano, 1 Kit” is actually really cool. My kid was learning about volcanos in school and we were super excited to try this out. I like the idea that you can erupt 8 volcanos because that gives families with multiple children a chance to try. This kit comes with 2 pairs of plastic gloves to make sure you keep your hands clean. Our kids didn't use gloves and it was fine. I really like that this kit comes with a tray to help keep messes contained to one area. The 48 stickers are super tiny so you can place multiple on each egg. The stickers have a Hawaiian theme like tiki heads, surf boards, hula girls etc. These stickers really didn't stick on the eggs once they were colored with the dye. We even had the kids wait until the eggs were completely dry and we found the stickers had fallen off a while later. It wasn't a big deal though. You will need to have vinegar to make the eruption. It's pretty easy to do and the kids had a blast. This kit comes with 4 different dye colors, we even mixed some of the powder from each packet and made a rainbow explosion.
We put this inside of a larger storage container and it was fun, there is NO WAY you can just use the included tray. We placed cardboard on the table first too. Gloves are a must! We dyed cauliflower with the extra dye hahaha.
My kids had fun coloring the eggs & making the volcano erupt using vinegar. I didn't know it needed vinegar at first so we couldn't do it on Easter. I thought the explosion would be bigger. You have to dip each egg one by one & fill the cup up with vinegar each time.
We really enjoyed the volcano results though we did add more baking soda. The kit was missing the wire egg dipper but we made one out of a coat hanger. The dye colors were more of a pastel shade than the bright colors shown on box. Gloves included were too big for kids.
i was and still am home. If you could look at the photo provided,it does not even appear to be the items i didn't receive in this delivery. i actually did not receive anything.
