Great product, easy install, fast shipping.
It's a good product. Looks good on the vehicle. The only thing I don't like is it didn't come with a switch to open and close from inside the truck besides the remote buttons.
RealTruck's customer service is 2nd to none. The cover itself is all that I need it to be (low profile, dependable, and sturdy). I have purchased 2 now, one last year and one just a week ago, and would buy another as well. However, 2 things worth noting: #1. The motor seems a little weak. For that kind of money they could put something a little stronger in there. I'd have paid extra for a little more HP myself. I had my 1st motor burn out quickly (within a month), but then it was replaced right away and has held up just fine for for 15 months and counting now. Still, it was worth noting. #2. The 8' bed versions should definitely come with at least 2 extra brackets to hold it down. Otherwise, it slants in (there goes the low-profile), buckles a bit, and is anything but secure. I knew this when I ordered my 2nd one (their local service rep installed the extra brackets for me last year when he replaced the bad motor) so I asked for extra brackets to be sent with this order. I'm not sure if the guy at PE was having a bad day or what, but he was really short with me when I called (telling me "our techs are the experts" when I mentioned to him that the longer bed needed more support) and wanted to charge me $80 for these tiny little brackets (which again, SHOULD come with the 8' model). I was willing to pay cost on them or slightly above (even though, again, they SHOULD come with this $2k cover), but on principle I am not going to get ripped off like that (he told me 2 for $60 or 4 for $80 so I know their cost could not possibly be more than $10 each). In any case, the conversation wasn't going anywhere so I just gave up and figured I would fabricate my own somehow once it got here. In fact, I hung up, because he was being a bit rude/dismissive and as with most people these days (the people at RealTruck are just the opposite and clearly make customer service/satisfaction their #1 priority) he didn't seem to care about a customer who already handed over his money. With all that being said, he ultimately did the right thing and sent the extra brackets express, and I used them in the install just now. So.. All's well that ends well and good on them for making things right. Still, I hate to complain and I am not one to pout until I get my way, so I wish that whole thing could have went down differently. Also, the "experts" over at PE really need to go back to the drawing board on this one, because I assure you the 8" bed is MUCH better with 6 or 8 clamps than it is with 4 (sure, it will work with 4, but...). It is a very noticeable difference, but then again you wouldn't know it IF you just installed it with they "give" you. So, yeah, I would recommend either one of two things: Either PE starts sending 2 extra brackets with the 8" bed OR you call up and catch them on a better day than I did. This cover is GREAT if you install it properly.
Third bedlocker that I have owned (all on different trucks) and first time I have ever had a problem. Unit quit working (after two years) so I called customer service and spoke to Tony Torres. He helped me work through trouble shooting the problem and after calling me back three or four times we narrowed the problem down and Tony got me a replacement control box in the mail that day. Outstanding customer service. I would never purchase any other brand.
I purchased the BedLocker Tonneau Cover for a 2017 GMC Sierra Denali short-bed and installed it by my self the included directions were very good, however I also watched a few installation videos on YouTube which provided a visual step by step installation and made the job very easy. Pace Edwards Tonneau Covers are the best looking retractable product on the market and works perfectly each and every time.
I have owned my Pace Edwards Bedlocker since a bought my truck in 2005. My truck is not garaged and except for some minor paint peel on the rail ( I dumped firewood out of tractor bucket on rail). This has been the best and toughest accessory I have ever bought for my truck. When I ever by a new truck, I will purchase another Bedlocker. Thanks for making such a great product.
The tonneau cover squeaked when opening and closing. Pace Edwards Tech Support was excellent in helping me trouble shoot the problem and send me a replacement gear
I owned this unit for 5 years, replaced one set of gears over that time. The unit works perfectly. The only issue I have is that the truck is outdoors 365, and the Arizona sun beat through the powder coating. It would be nice is there was a hard anodized option. Not sure if the slats are cast or extruded, maybe why anodizing isn't an option.
Looks and functions great but coming 30 plus years of using a cap there is alot of water leakage when it rains.
It leaks all over. Does not protect from rain
