Pace Edwards Tonneau Cover

Brian F. May 14, 2024

The product gets a 5 star from me. However, the assembly instructions could use a little more detail. Some was a little confusing but overall I got the job done. Definitely not weatherproof, but I got it more for the security instead of being rain proof.

Love the Cover

George August 1, 2023

This is my 3rd Pace Edwards cover for different trucks of my lifetime. They are expensive but the best money I spend on the truck. Once you go electric its hard to go back to manual. The ultra is well build, quiet. Not sure about customer service at the moment since I have not needed it yet

Great Cover

Innovative S. January 19, 2019

I had Roll N Lock electric covers on my last 2 trucks I was told they were the best for security and overall workmanship I bought this Pace Edwards UltraGroove Electric Tonneau cover because Roll N Lock didnt have one for my 2019 F350 8' bed. I just installed this yesterday and I have to say the workmanship and quality is much better I also love the features that the roll n lock doesn't have.. You can add a remote switch in the cab and not have to rely on the remote fob. there is also a release encase you lost the remotes, motor fails, or battery power so you can manually use the cover , You touch the remote button once and it fully closes / opens, The roll n lock you have to hold the button until it closes/ opens :( I have to say Pace Edwards Ultra Groove Electric Tonneau is a Great product.. I was a little discouraged buying this because of the post by Rodney H. " Poorest product he ever owned " So glad I didn't listen.. All I have to say is Rodney you installed it wrong..

This cover is wonderful! Installation

Jim July 1, 2022

This cover is wonderful! Installation was about 2 hours with my wife helping and reading instructions. Had to extend electrical wires to reach battery (have crew cab and battery on right side of engine compartment. Quality of this product is excellent, rates high 10. Be sure to follow instructions and try hard not to jump ahead. I would definitely recommend this cover and have already started looking for other Pace Edwards products.

Pace edwards ultragroove electric tonneau cover

Frank L. November 5, 2024

It was not too hard to install but it fit roll properly. I had to move the rear gap back a little on both sides. I bought the bluetooth module but the app was not available from Google play. Disappointed. Returning the device back because pace edwards support just tells me it suppose to be there and it was not done by them. Almost like pace edwards didn't care if it was working or not.

No Regrets So Far

Coy I. April 21, 2019

Just ordered and installed this Pace Edwards UltraGroove Electric for my new 2019 F-350 Dually Limited with an 8ft Bed. So far I'm very pleased. Time will tell more. Here are several points to help you decide: 1. I pull a gooseneck trailer often. My prior truck I had a Roll-n-lock manual slide for 4 years. It worked fine but I wanted something similar but electric. Also the thing about the electric is while pulling the gooseneck you can close this electric one back right up near the trailer neck and keep more of your items covered with the trailer on. 2. Beware there are few (I only found 2) brands of Electric covers on the market for this 8ft bed. Pace Edwards has a good reputation, so this choice is pretty much a "no-brainer". 3. Real Truck's Chat was very helpful although beware this model for this bed length took longer to ship than I thought was reasonable. They first told me it would ship in 5-7 days. After 11 days I contacted them on Chat and they told me it takes 10-12 days to ship. Needless to say, that irritated me, although the next day (12th day) it showed up at my door so overall the ship time was satisfactory. 4. INSTALLATION: You definitely need 2 people to install it, the canister is heavy and lining it up to install the rails is a little difficult but doable. Sliding the rails onto the grooves isn't as easy as the installation video makes it appear. You just have to kind of hold your mouth right and you will feel it go on. Pull the cover out by hand about a foot or so before trying to slide the rails on. Don't use the box like they suggest, it's not strong enough to hold all of that weight solid enough. I used 2 5-gallon plastic buckets and it worked ok. Use the packing pads to prop the rails near the rear up while and after you slide the rails on. My bed at the front is curved some so don't expect it to install and cover the whole front lip of your bed evenly. I actually was worried it wasn't going to look proper but it turned out fine. Using their "gauge" thing to determine the distance from the closed tailgate is a pain and really is just best to eyeball it but make sure it's the same distance on both sides from that back lip on the rails to the closed tailgate. (I'd guess about 3/16") The canister is so heavy it's not going to be real easy to move it all around. I really didn't have as much trouble as I thought I would getting it all lined up. Better prepare for about 3 hours though on the first one you install plus time to do the wiring first. I could do another one in an hour now but you know how that is. My tailgate pushes up on it when it closes a little but that's required to make a good seal. 5. Don't freak but the first few times you close the lid you are going to think this motor just isn't going to do it. You will actually have to help pull on the cover the last couple of feet to get it to close. The motor might actually click and shut-off but it's ok, hit the button again and help pull the top. It's just real tight the first few times. Mine shuts fine now but that's why I dinged my rating to a 4, because I think the motor really needs to be stronger, after a week now I'm much more at ease, again time will tell. The 303 brand sample they have included not only serves as a top conditioner but it also lubricates the slide part. As the instructions say...….take a cloth and lubricate the track and the rubber gasket where it slides and it will help tremendously with the ease of slide. The 303 is good stuff. I've used it for 4 yrs on my other top. Don't use the cheap stuff. I got a gallon of it online 4yrs ago and still have a ton of it, it goes a long way. It's also good for any of your rubber or vinyl parts on the outside of your truck or cars. 6. WATER TEST: Took it to the hand power car wash and didn't baby it at all washing it with the power washer. Blew probably half of the water off with a blower before opening it and to our surprise the thing didn't leak hardly at all. There was maybe a little moisture at the very back but I account that to the water that was on the top at the rear when we opened it that just kind of "fell" in. I was pleasantly surprised with the water tightness. Keep in mind, ALL of these covers will leak some water, it's just not possible to keep all moisture out but you should be happy with the results. 7. LOOKS...…...This is on a $90,000 truck and it totally enhances the look. It appears it was factory made for this Limited edition truck. I'm totally happy with the quality of looks. SUMMARY...……..I'm thrilled with it so far. If it holds up as it appears then I made a good choice. Pace Edwards needs to consider a stronger motor is the only criticism I can give. Don't decide not to buy the electric top based on this, I wouldn't take for it so far. It's not a fast closing top but it's not too slow for satisfaction either. The closed top surface looks similar to my prior Roll-n-lock vinyl-type material but it's aluminum metal slats with a matte finish and appears actually to be vinyl. Looks really good and compliments even a fancy new truck. I think it will hold up much better long term. It is well worth the money. I personally wouldn't have any other type of cover than a sliding one.

good cover slight flaw

Frank S. January 19, 2024

I really like this tonneau cover. installation was easy and strait forward. The only problem I had was that when it gets cold it freezes and the motor is not strong enough to overcome it. have to get snow of and use a heater under it to open it. I also got it to open by using a small amount of hot water.
