This oat milk is a great milk alternative. I usually do almond milk or soy milk and this oat milk has a great taste as well. It also has a great shelf life; great for the pantry and emergencies when you run out of milk. It has 4 g of protein per serving too. Great in smoothies and ‘milk’ teas.
This was very smooth tasting. I didn't know what to expect when I got this. I never had plant -based oats. I will say that I am now a fan of this. This product ca be kept out of the refrigerator. Once you open it, you have to refrigerate it. I enjoy the fact that it's not genetically modified either. I have been afraid to switch up my diet and the fact that there are actual tasty options out there makes the transition much easier for me.
I thought I'd give this a try, since I've been looking for an alternative to regular milk. I'm happy that I did because it's wonderful! It has such a good flavor! It tastes like oatmeal with just a hint of sweetener. It's not overly sweet, but it is very rich and it has a nice smooth, creamy texture! I'm trying to learn to eat healthier, and this oat milk makes that transition so much easier! I can't seem to tolerate regular milk anymore, so this was a super nice find. I've experienced no stomach upset with this. So if you're starting a new healthy lifestyle, this is a must! It's just a bonus that it's all organic too!
I currently only use plant based milks, and I switch between almond milk and cashew milk mostly. I have tried oatmilk in the past (other brands). I do not use dairy milk because I have a slight dairy intolerance. I mainly use plant based milks in coffee and when eating cereal. What I liked about Pacific Foods Oat beverage was that it was shelf stable. I like having something in the cabinet at all times in case I run out and can not get to the store right away. Unfortunately, once you open it, you must use it within 7 days. Since I only use the milk for coffee and cereal (I have coffee everyday but not cereal everyday) I will end up throwing this out without finishing it. I need something to last longer. However, if you can finish it within 7 days, it may work for you. I normally do not drink plant based milk on its own, but I did taste this by itself. It definitely reminded me of oatmeal...has the same taste but in liquid form and there was a sweetness to it. I also liked that it did froth a little bit (better than my almond and cashew milk); you can see the before and after in my photos. I like frothed milk in my coffee. Unfortunately I did not care for the taste of it in my coffee. I am a coffee lover and love the taste of coffee without any flavors or sugars and because this did have a flavor, I did not like my coffee. I did try this in my cereral and I was fine with it because it worked with the sweetness of my cereal. The only other thing I do not like is it is high in calories; 130 for a cup. I probably would not use oat milk for this reason since I do not need all the added calories in my cereal; I felt perfectly ok with eating my cereal with unsweetened almond milk for much less calories. Overall I recommend this for taste and frothing abilities and if you are ok with the calories and usage (once opened) in under 7 days, I would recommend this for you. This was just not for me for the reasons stated.
Every time I order this they send the original one, not the reduced sugar. The original is very good! I have not had cereal since becoming vegan but with this oat milk I can enjoy my cereal again! I really want to try the reduced sugar one but when I call they do not understand what I am trying to say and do not seem to have a way to fix this situation.
I like the idea of plant milk and am happy to see so many options on the market nowadays. I really wanted to like this but the taste is too strong and it's not creamy enough for coffee, which is the main use I have for milk. I would recommend this to people maybe for a strong tasting cereal where the oaty milk flavor would blend right in. It might also be OK for baking if you use other flavors along with it. Be warned, the flavor is strong though. I can taste it through a cup of coffee and it also has a sweetness that I do not like in coffee at all.
Didn't really taste great. Normally I get the shelf stable Planet Oat brand, but this is the closest thing walmart carries. Price is good, but due to disliking the taste, I would not purchase again. Disappointed because I can't have the non dairy milks that are fortified with vitamin A palmitate and somd other things, and the brand I do well with isn't easily available here.
I have become a big fan of organic oat milk and use it in my coffee %26 for making mac n' cheese, atop cereal etc. This specific brand was not a win in my book. It separated and left a grainy leftover in the bottom of my coffee cup. I don't like how much this one separates.
In coffee, this stuff is absolutely horrible. I shook the box like one of those little paint shakers on crack for a good 120 seconds and it still looked like spoiled milk and Exxon Valdez when I poured it in. It’s probably great for almond based cereals because the oat flavor is stronger than the jaws of your pet when they have something in her/his mouth they shouldn’t but dang if it doesn’t ruin a good cup of coffee. So I’m sure it partners better with something else but coffee being my main food group and all that’s going to be a big no for me.
Been drinking oatmilk for years and this is the worst oat milk we have ever tasted. No idea why but tastes like sour water and ruined my coffee. Somewhere I read it comes from Italy? Maybe they like their oatmilk watery. Thanks Walmart for the refund, will toss this one in garbage!
