This will be used to house succulent plants during the winter. We lost a bunch of succulent plants during the winter months. My wife lost some expensive specimens from a freak snow storm with temps as low as 7 degrees with snow and ice. We will update our succulent journey after we get all the plants relocated to the green house.
I bought the 8x12 model. I did a lot of research on greenhouses and this model specifically before I purchased it. I also read all the reviews I could find. Like other reviews state - the instructions are intimidating at first, and it did take a few days to construct but knowing that going into it, made it a nonissue. I also had no missing or broken parts. The greenhouse is VERY sturdy once put together. It's been through a few thunderstorms lately and I had no water leaks. The automatic roof vents work wonderfully. I don't have any concerns with this greenhouse making it through our Michigan winters or spring/summer storms. Hayneedle was THE PERFECT site to order from and I had zero issues from ordering all the way to delivery. In fact I was so happy with Hayneedle that I went right back and ordered more accessories for the greenhouse through them. I'm 100% happy all the way around.

Cannot speak to the long term durability, as we have had it assembled for about 4 days. But - we are very pleased with the service, the quality, the engineering et al, and are therefore optimistic about functionality and useage. It did take a while (we finished in about 3-4 days 2-4 hours each day) to put together. Could not do it with one person. With two of us, it was fine. Review directions carefully before beginning (which of course we did not do), and if you have the space to organize and lay out your numbered parts for easy finding - do so.
We moved to the country and decided to get a greenhouse. After much research we chose the 8x8 Glory. Palram's customer service was exceptional, and we received our greenhouse quickly, no damaged parts, and all were there. My husband poured an 8 inch wide concrete footing. He and I put up the Glory in less than a day and a half. He is exceptionally handy and experienced in assembling, so there were no issues. There are no written instructions on the step by step pages, but we had no problems. We particularly like the automatic door on top, it works perfectly. For our flooring, we chose to put down good quality weedblock fabric...then 14 bags of Quikcrete sand... then 8 large paving stones at the doorway going down the center...then 10 bags of river rocks. It is perfect. The greenhouse is beautiful, and I think we got what we paid for...we originally were going to get a less expensive model, but we're glad we got this model. We will stick with Palram for any future needs, and will definitely recommend Palram to other people. I must say this...if you are not experienced with building/assembling, find someone who is that can help you put this together. Read the book all the way through at least once, so you will know what to expect. I found other peoples' reviews to be very helpful, as well. Thank you Palram and Hayneedle for making the whole process so convenient and easy.
I love plants! In the sunroom in my home, I have a lot of house plants. I wanted a greenhouse to winter my outdoor plants. Also, I want to grow vegetables when it's cold. I ordered the 8' x 12' greenhouse and I'm pleased with the size. I like the 2 roof vents with automatic openers and the side louver window. The cross ventilation is very good. The negative was the directions indicate that assembly would take at least half a day but it took 2 people 25 hours to assemble but I'm pleased with the result!
We are pleased with our new 8x8 Palram Glory. Since my step-kids were on strike against helping with more home projects, I assembled the greenhouse alone. I used 4x4's for the foundation, securing them with galvanized lag bolts. My sloped location required extra 4x4's at the front, and so I have two stairs leading up to it. A fence on the east side blocked me from sliding the roof panels into place, so I pre-assembled the unit on my patio before moving it onto the foundation. I did not read the instructions all the way through before beginning, but I did take it slowly, one step at a time. I wondered why I had to add two additional fasteners on the vertical risers but did it anyway (I learned later that these extra fasteners secured the interior foundation braces (a very handy feature!) I lost a couple of the fasteners down the vertical risers and wasn't about to take it all apart to retrieve them, but the kit included extras, so I could complete the job. It went up fast! The one error I made (installing the incorrect size of polycarbonate in the roof panel that shared space with the vent opening) was remedied easily by swapping the panels. A surprise wind gust blew the structure some six inches, so a few patio pavers placed inside the the bottom channel lip fixed that problem. Four of my neighbors helped me lift the completed structure, walk it 50 feet, and place it onto the foundation. It seemed very light! An extra 2x4 secured inside the 4x4 foundation allowed me to install the interior anchor pieces to those two fasteners I had wondered about. The kit was short two screws for the door handle latch, which I found elsewhere in my stuff. The door hinge orientation was tricky to figure out. A photo would have been nice to have, as the drawing left something to be desired. The door closes with a quality sort of a click. I really couldn't be happier with the quality of this product.
Easy to construct and am very happy with it. It has been up for just over a week and I already have seedlings sprouting. Looking forward to fresh salad for Thanks Giving. I think I will be able to grow cold weather veggies for most of the winter. Looking forward to start summer plants next March. Use the heat mats to keep trays warm at night and it seems to help everything grow.
Instructions were somewhat cumbersome. 3 people 1 ½ day job to assemble. Palram did send wrong parts for installation of the window. Ended up having to install at the bottom of the unit instead of middle. All associated pieces were not included in shipment. Not Hayneedle's fault but rather manufacturer. Awaiting missing pieces. Overall seems sturdy, nice looking greenhouse.
Took quite some time to put together, 9hrs+._x000D_ Looked well and was satisfied initially. _x000D_ I became disheartened when I started to try fill in the gaps. There are 10mm gaps at the end of each panel and a gap that needs to be filled along the hinged side of the door. No mention of this in product description, no material supplied or recommendations of what to use to fill these gaps.
