Panasonic DMR-EZ28K DVD Player/Recorder (New)

I purchased a similar Panasonic DVD and it quit operating within serveral months! Still under warrenty, I had to pay to have it shipped back to Panasonic for repair. I received a refurbished unit, but there was no power cord or remote. Because I sent the original cord and remote back, I can't use the refurbished unit. I have called Panasonic Customer FIVE times and they still have not sent me a power cord or remote. Stuck with a DVD I can't use. Beware of Panasonic.

This dvd recorder has its good points and bad points. First the good points when it is working well and has no problems the picture and sound from the unit is quite good and the menu is good too. Now the bad points I have had two of these units go bad, one I attribute to storm damage and the other one is unknown. One units drawer wouldn't open and the other one wouldn't recognize the tuner. While that is bad I would still recommend the units as I have one other unit that is still working and very easy to use. I would like to say in response to the last reviewer that I am sorry Panasonic didn't return your remote and power cord. However the cords are available online for purchase as are the original remote controls from various retailers. I know for a fact that Panasonic has a parts department too so you can be sure to receive the right part. I say beware of buying some parts as they can be very expensive if you have to buy an internal part. So repairing the unit yourself isn't really worth the money and prices have gone down for both this unit and others that already have the tuner. If this unit were better I would have given it five stars but don't think it is worth five.

I have had three panasonic dvd recorders, the last one i bought was at walmart. While they are working they are easy to use, good quality for the price. however they do not last very long. my first purchase lasted 31 days and a great hassle, after 8 months i get my money back. the second unit, puchased at sears last 11 months. under extended warranty, sears repaired it with many new parts. it is still working after the repair. the third unit, purchased at walmart lasted 15 months. I am quite disappointed with the panasonic DVD recorders, and I would never recommend it to any one else. They do not last very long........................erinka

When I record on a disc and play it back some disc work for a wile then it doesn't work the next time I go to play it. I'm taking mine back.

I have owned this product for approx 4 years and have yet to have the first problem with it. Easy to operate, dependable, a first rate value. Panasonic has always given me good service and this unit is no exception. I have had Magnavox, Sylvania, Toshiba and other products and this one is right in there among the best I have had. It is simple to operate, easy to install and is very dependable. I would purchase another one if this one went kaput!

Panasonic dvd recorders in my opinion are the best dvd recorder on the market because of the high quality recordings that you can get by using more than just rca jack input (the yellow video wire). I was disappointed in Walmart's price which was higher than the product's suggested retail price. Unfortunately, I did return this item only because of Walmart's excessively high price!
