I received this item as a free sample. I really enjoy the Panera line of soups available at the market. The ingredients are pretty clean, which is surprising for a supermarket item, but again, it's refrigerated, not shelf stable, so it's much fresher and a shorter expiration date, which is ok when you're talking fresh food. Yes, the price is higher than canned, but you really can taste the difference that this is fresher. I like to add some fresh cilantro on top for color and an additional hit of freshness.
Panera Bread Mexican Style Street Corn Chowder 16 oz Refrigerated soup is really delicious! Love that this soup is Gluten free and Vegetarian. Also nice to be made with no artificial preservatives, sweeteners, flavors or colors from artificial sources. Super convenient to be available in a microwaveable cup, as well.
I'm trying a free sample of this chowder. Absolutely loved the full-bodied flavor, and it was a pretty good portion size. I think that it could have been a little bit thicker, but the seasoning was great! While it costs a little more, this is a tougher one to make from scratch, so I enjoyed the chance to enjoy it on demand.
I love how creamy this soup is. I also really, really like all the different textures. The soup has a very flavorful taste and is very reminiscent of Mexican street corn. I could make a whole meal out of the soup, but it is also good to accent a taco night meal. very convenient!
I very much enjoyed this Panera Bread Mexican Style Street Corn Chowder! It was a thick chowder that was not overly salty, and filled with hearty chunks of potatoes, poblano peppers, and fire-roasted corn. The cilantro, lime and chili peppers bring together the full "Mexican Street Corn" flavors. The chowder is gluten free and vegetarian, and can be heated in its own container in the microwave.
Canned soup is something that I always like to keep on hand for quick meals. We love soup and sandwich lunches. I will admit that I like the convenience and shelf life of canned soup but this refrigerated ready-to-heat Mexican Street Corn Chowder has me thinking that I have been missing out! It has a much fresher, closer to homemade flavor. The 16 oz container is plenty big for one serving! Preparing it on the stovetop is always my preferred way to heat it. For some reason, it always seems to taste better. Also, I can stir often for a more even heat distribution. You can also prepare it in the microwave if you are looking for something a bit quicker and more convenient. The soup is chunky and quite filling. It contains corn, potatoes, Neufchatel cheese, onions, red bell peppers, fire roasted poblano peppers, etc. The combination of ingredients is creamy, hearty, and filling. The potatoes had a little bite to them and the peppers weren't mouth scorchingly spicy. They helped balance out the creaminess of the cheese and chowder base. There is 8 grams of protein per serving which I like. It feels more substantial than most soups that I have tried in the past. However, the sodium content... YIKES!!!! 1,800 mg per container which is 78% of your recommended daily value. That is just TOO much! I know that soup is almost always high in sodium but for that reason, this isn't something that I would consume or buy often.
The soup was good with strong flavors so it wasn't bland at all. It has a bit of a creamy texture and lots of veggies which I liked and gave it a fresh feel. It's a great soup option, for me I would just gravitate to other flavors before grabbing this one again.
Love anything Mexican corn chowder, or chicken tortilla soup. Guess I have a weak spot for each. Even though I have eaten many times, but still get excited each time when I have them. This corn chowder soup is loaded with sorted veggies, plus a little kick of spices. What a perfect meal for a nice summary day, to enjoy my afternoon after a nice workout!
Well worth it if you're looking for a quick addition to your lunch or dinner. Tastes great overall. The only drawback is the price point they're selling it at. I probably wouldn't even give it four stars for value if it wasn't something that's on the unique side for what you can find in stores. Overall though it was good.
I tried this 16 oz. Mexican-style soup recently, and I have to say, it really hit the spot. The portion was solid — definitely enough to count as a full meal, which I appreciated on a busy day when I didn't feel like cooking. The flavor was great. It had that familiar mix of spices you find in a lot of Mexican food — bold, savory, and just a little kick. It felt hearty and filling, like real food, not just broth with a few things floating in it. That said, there are a couple downsides. It's almost $6, which is kind of steep compared to other soups out there. I don't mind paying a bit more for good flavor, but it still made me do a double take. Also, the sodium level is wild — close to 80% of the daily recommended amount in one serving. That's a lot for a soup, even a tasty one. Overall, I liked it and would buy it again if I'm in the mood for something filling and flavorful. But it's more of an occasional treat than a pantry staple for me, mostly because of the price and salt content.
