awesome transom saver
this transom saver is very strong sturdy and well made. it was easy to put together. and worked well. appreciate the good craftsmanship. also appreciate the shipping was quick and everything was in order.

Installation Pointers
This works great. Pretty straight forward installation. Just make sure you don't overtighten the nuts on V-shape piece that rests on the transom as it will collapse the opening and affect how it sits on the transom. Also, the 21" rubber strap that came with it did not fit my 50hp outboard and I had to purchase a smaller length separately.

Horrible Engineering, Don't Purchase
The play in the helical "locking system" is about an inch. It bounces up and down quite more than any other transom saver I've used in the past. Plus, the mounting bracket only secures with one bolt so if the vertical piece of the L isn't hitting your trailer brace it twists during transport (I would have drilled out another hole to properly secure it, but the way it's designed, there isn't any room). The engineering on this is horrible and in my opinion I would NOT recommend the Panther transom saver (unless it is your ONLY option), buy a different brand.
