Worth it
Being a college student, I was hesitant to buy these because what college student can afford to buy 8 pens for $8? I'm happy that I decided to buy them! They're my favorite pens to take notes with. They write very smooth and I just love writing with them.

Papermate InkJoy Gel Pens, Fine Point
Pleasing colors, excellent writing nib/point, except I think the ink comes out a little too much and a little too fast when you write more slowly, as I do w/arthritic hands. I really like them, though.

6 of the 7 write beautifully. The green pen doesn't work at all. My son is excited about writing for the first time because he thinks these pens look cool. The colors are a bit bright for my taste but they are very fun and easy to use.

Disposable Pen Without The Disposable Price
NOT REFILLABLE - BUYER BEWARE! I fell in love with these pens when they first came out - teachers I worked with had gotten some samples and they were wonderful! I've been buying them consistently since. Unfortunately, a few days ago one of my pens ran out of ink. It happens, right? But it's not a problem because you just go buy a refill! Or not. NewellRubbermaid/Papermate are no longer making refills for any of these pens. At all. If you can find them on Amazon, I suggest hoarding them now. Unfortunately, I prefer the fine tip, and those are completely gone. It seems logical that if they are effectively making these pens disposable, the price will reflect that, right? No. There are, as of now, apparently NO plans to reduce the price. So what you are doing is buying a disposable pen at a refillable price. I suppose it's time to start testing out the competitors.
