ParaMed Heating Pad - XL Size 12 x 24 - Electric, Auto Shut-off, Machine-Washable

My husband has chronic back pain. To relieve his pain, he has been using my old heating pad. It does ease the pain, but he has to keep moving it up and down his back repeatedly to cover the most painful areas. When I saw this King-sized pad, I was hoping that it would cover the major area of his back that was inflamed. This Paramed heating pad is 12" wide and 24" long, so it does cover a large area. The built in cover is made of a soft velvety fabric, light gray on one side and dark gray on the other. It has three settings; low, medium, and high. It began to heat up seconds after I plugged it in, reaching the desired warmth in about two minutes. I turned it to the high setting which is very comfortable, but I would suggest that you check your skin for redness if using on the "high" setting for a long period of time. Also as an extra precaution, I never put it directly on my skin. The temperature on my pad reached 100.4° when I tested it thirty minutes after I turned it on. I do like the fact that it is machine washable, without the cord, of course. I'm very pleased with this new heating pad.

this heating pad is exactly what i was needing. i like that it heats quickly, is amply large and turns itself off in 2 hours. i needed a new one to replace the one i am letting my 10 year old chihuahua use. (hers is another brand, similar in construction with a one hour timer. perfect for her especially when winter hits. winter lasts 7 months here.)

I try not to complain about all my aches and pains, I really do. but the older I get the more that I need relief from these discomforts. The warmth of this extra large heating pad is so comforting. This one is excellent especially because of its size. The size is generous enough to mold around and cover all my lower back . It will cover both of my aching knees.. My husband has a bothersome hip. It is all but impossible to get a small pad to stay in place on a hip , but not a problem with this heating pad. The material of its cover is soft and a very pretty mink grey. I haven't washed it yet but am pleased that it can be kept clean with cold water washing. An extra long cord and three warming settings are convenient. The automatic shut off feature is a good safety feature. This heating pad deserves this five star review!

This heatpad is a lifesaver for painful joints and sore muscles. I had issue with my neck and back due to long hours of working from home. Sitting for long time challenges our body joints and muscles. To me it is worst inhalation of smoke in terms of deterioration of health. Finally I got my hands on this heating pad and it is so cozy, soft, bends are around wherever i need it. It is big enough to cover the aching areas completely around the neck and back. Heats up fast and looks like there is a safety mechanism to keep a check that it doesnt overheat.

This is a nice heating pad that is a nice size. It covers a very large area and heats up quickly. The lowest heat setting in my opinion could have been a bit warmer. The medium setting was comfortable for my achy joints but overalI would have preferred it to have gotten hotter. I love that it has an extra long cord and a big easy to use controller. Has one button to push for heat settings & to turn off. The pad is nice & soft but has no cover. I'm almost afraid to wash it in the washer as instructed to do so. Overall a nice big heating pad that could stand to be a bit hotter and in need of a removable cover.

I like the pad is large enough to wrap all the way around my leg, I was also able to rest it over both knees with it wrapping around. So if you are looking for leg joint relief you can cover the entire joint front to back or do both knees at the same time. It's more like a small blanket than a pad and way better than the smaller pads I've had before. It will cover my whole lower back including around the sides or from top to bottom on the back sides not included. It says heat is good for stomach cramps, which I can't personally attest to, but it's big enough to cover a belly area much larger than mine. The large heating area allows for better muscle relaxation around any area with pain or stiffness. After a morning cutting firewood it felt good on my lower back. It gets warm pretty quickly, but I felt like it was slow to reach full heat on the high setting appearing to get warmer more than I was personally comfortable with after 10 minutes. Mid level seems to be about right for me. The material is very soft plush on one side and it has no removable cover. To wash you disconnect the cable and either gentle cold wash in a machine or hand wash. Personally, I would prefer if it had a removable cover as well. It comes with a nice carrying pouch for when not in use. Pros. Large size!!! Very pliable to wrap around joints or snugly to back/stomach contours. 3 heat setting to find the right comfort level.

I suffer from lower back pain quite often so a heating pad helps quite a bit. I had an older (very old) heating pad and decided to upgrade when I saw this one. This heating pad has so many nice features that you will enjoy! It is a larger size of 12 x 24 so you can use it on your back comfortably without having to move it around. I love the soft velour like cover that can be removed and machine washed, making it so comfortable to lay on the pad. The pad heats up quickly and has 3 different heat settings, and will automatically shut itself off after 2 hours so you can fall asleep and not have to worry about turning it off. The cord is a nice length so you can use it in many areas of your home comfortably. So glad I have this heating pad!

This heating pad is 24 x 12. It is recommended that you put it in high for 15 minutes before use. The heating pad is ok, it doesn't get too hot to the point of where you're uncomfortable or burned. I've only used this heating pad on high and it's fine. The material is comfortable feeling. It comes with a white dial with 3 levels of heat. High, medium and low and you can also turn this heating pad off. It comes with a small bag for storage.

I can say that the size of this and the initial heat it gets to on medium and high are nice and what I'd expect from those settings, however the issue I have with this is that once it reaches a certain temperature or level of heating then it seems to cut itself down and it's not as hot as you'd originally got on that setting. (I'm not talking about the timer switch that all heating pads seem to have anymore where it turns itself off after a certain amount of time. I understand that is a safety issue and probably legally necessary as a fire safety feature.) This may also be a fire safety feature but I had another heating pad I bought not too long ago also at Walmart and it did not have this temperature turn down feature so I don't think it's the same thing as in a necessary safety feature they HAVE to include. I personally prefer a hot heating pad and this one became a pain to have to keep turning off and on again to get the heat level I want from it. For this reason I wouldn't suggest this particular pad unless it is only needed for very limited warmth. It's not a problem in any other way so if this were not the case I'd give it 5 stars for sure.
