This concept was actually good and entertaining, despite it's difference from the other Star Trek series. The DVD arrived and was in perfect condition. It was packed well for shipping and it was a good price.

Season One Part One Only
I knew that the DVD was not the complete series but only the first part of season one. I'm collecting all the Star Trek physical media I can get my hands on. I still feel the DVD was at a good price for what is on it.

One of the best “new” Star Trek shows up be watched since voyager or ds9. Aimed for children, but any one who loves Star Trek will enjoy this.

Only first 10 episodes, still a fun watch
It's a decent series with a different twist on the Star Trek formula, just nothing groundbreaking. It's fine for what it is. This is the first ten episodes of a twenty episode season, so keep that in mind. Also, these are 24 minute episodes, not the hour long episodes more typical for a Star Trek series, so it's better suited for a younger audience or just those strapped for time. The lead characters are also unlike the typical Star Trek protagonists, coming from a dingy and run-down background rather than the typical optimistic utopia the series is known for. This makes for a great contrast with the other shows as these characters slowly learn about the potential they can bring to the greater galaxy. The short runtime of the episodes does mean they have to hurry through their stories and we get less time for B-Plots, a series staple. The first ten episodes also lean quite heavily on their mysteries, drip feeding information to keep the audience guessing and keeping the pace slow. Still, the characters are engaging and the story is interesting, even if it feels like the cast are from Star Wars for the most part. Fans of Star Trek should be able to get something out of this, though it really doesn't have enough there to be really satisfying. It's a bit expensive for just the first half of a 20 episode season, which is unfortunate as well. Getting this as a gift for a for families that love Trek should be a safe bet, though.

My kids really love this show. The listing is misleading though - it says "Complete Series" when it's actually the first half of the first season.
