THIS HAS BEEN OUR FAMILY'S FAVORITE MOVIE FOR ABOUT 20 YEARS. I HAD AN OLD VHS COPY AND NEEDED TO UPGRADE. ENJOY THE WONDERFUL VIEW AND MUSIC!!! THE PRICE WAS VERY LOW. IT PROBABLY IS THE BEST "SCROOGE" MOVIE VERSION EVER MADE, THO NOT EXACTLY AS DICKENS APPROVED IN HIS BOOK, "A CHRISTMAS CAROL".
Great classic movie,thanks
I was so happy to find that this movie was out on DVD. I recorded it years ago on a VHS tape and the quality was terrible. It is a tradition for me to wrap my Christmas presents while watching this movie. It's clarity is amazing. For me this was a must have
best rendition of Dickens tale. full of sentiment and catchy tunes, you will cry. laugh. and cringe.
This musical, made in 1970, offers a truly enjoyable view of the Dickens classic. Albert Finney's performance rates right up there with George C. Scott's and Patrick Stewart's. The music, considered cheesy by today's standards still shines with cleverly combined choreography and bits of whimsy. The most notable of these musical numbers, and stands out for this reviewer, is "Thank You Very Much." Even though this movie has a rather dated feel to it, it's still a very strong presence over the Christmas holiday, not for it's obnoxiously presence (of which it had none, unlike more recent Christmas film forays) but for it's lack of any showings. It's just not Christmas without this particular version. Well made, entertaining, recommended for most audiences, littler viewers may need parental supervision.
This is my favorite Christmas Carol. I love the songs, the actors and the ghosts. There are scenes you won't find in any other Christmas Carol movie. It will warm your heart, you will laugh, you will cry and you'll find yourself happily humming one of the tunes.
Stellar..!! Everything was stellar.! Honestly, couldn't be happier.!!! Thank you all.!!
Came nice and neverything everything worked beautifully Impressed how well it was packagotcha.Thank you
My family watches this movie every year on Christmas Eve. A great family tradition. The movie reminds you of the true meaning of Christmas. I rushed this to get it in time so that I could watch it. Side note, the Blu Ray version cuts out the overture (according to other reviews) and being a musician I thought that was an un-neccessary move, and that's why I bought the DVD. The only problem, which might just be the movie, is that the recording would sometimes be too quiet, and after turing up to compensate, it gets loud again, making it a chore to go up and down on volume. Overall, this movie always makes me feel like a child again on Christmas!
This 1970's film version of the classic Christmas Carol starring Albert Finney is the absolute best! I grew up with it and saw the thaterical run in Hollywood when the film was first released. If you want to establish family traditions during the holidays, get a copy of this film and enjoy it with your children or grandchildren -- the core messages and values of this timeless story shine through with delightful songs and dance that will capture the imagination of both youn and old.
