Parent's Choice Standard Wall Safety Gate, Fits 26" to 42" Wide

In the beginning, using it can be quite challenging, but with a little time, it becomes simple and incredibly sturdy! It's also budget-friendly. I purchased this when my baby was 6 months old when she started crawling, and now at 10 months, she’s very strong and EVERYWHERE, yet this gate stay firmly in place. I will say that you should be careful not to position the locking mechanism towards your baby, or they'll likely find a way to climb it, just like my baby once did.

These baby gates are sturdy. I wanted something quick and effective to keep my medium sized dogs contained and this was the cheapest but also a sturdy option. For those of you who can’t figure out how to use it… 1) Measure the width of the door. Let’s say your door is 38” wide. 2) Go to the baby gate, and move the metal notch on the arm to 38. Might take some strange maneuvering but get it onto 38 or whatever number matches the inch opening of your door. 3) Situate the baby gate where you want it and extend the sides to the wall. 4) slide the white latch catch left to hook onto the other arm, locking the gate in place. As soon as you do that, the wood might bend and wobble for a moment due to it getting or the right pressure, but then it should secure right into place when the white latch catches. Done! I don’t use the wall things it comes with. It isn’t a hard baby gate to use once you figure it out.

This is a good, affordable baby gate. We've had one out of four break, but that one got the most use in terms of adjusting and moving it around all the time. If it wouldn't have been moved daily it probably would have lasted longer. Be aware, it isn't as tall as some of the other options. I'm short and wanted a gate I could step over so this worked best for me.

This gate is very sturdy and reliable for our two doodles. We live in an apartment and any little noise they want to charge out on the patio to investigate. Could have been a leaf, who knows but this gate stops them from doing that and annoying my neighbors. Good job! 👍

I ordered these to keep two small dog out of certain areas. Boy, they sure aren't like they used to be. Quality is cheap but so is the price, $15. That being said they were delivered for free on the same day ordered. A plus in my book. Will they hold up? Only time will tell.

Kept my toddler out of an area we wanted her kept out of for a time, and looked nice while doing it. but it did damage the doorframe it was in, and it didn’t last long. I’m too pregnant to step over it at this point so we’ve had to take it down and put it back more frequently, the last time we went to tension it back to the doorframe the entire lever snapped.

I honestly hate having to put these gates up. The little wall mounts it came with to help them stay up fell off the wall within the first couple days and since I'm renting I can't screw them in with the screws provided. And without those mounts these gates do not stay up what so ever.

This is a no-frills tension pet gate that works great for its price point. I needed something to separate a new cat that I'm introducing to my current cats, and this is perfect for that. I doubled up the gate, so they couldn't jump over. It's a little fussy to set up compared to other nicer gates I've seen, but again, for the price, it's acceptable. The most important thing is that it has good, tight tension to keep them from knocking it over. The push-down bar to put the tension on is very flimsy, so you have to use both hands to slowly guide it down or else it pops out and feels like it's going to break. The locking mechanism is also hard to put into place and unlock. Otherwise, it's perfect for our needs. The cats can safely get used to each other and see each other.

In order to make it child or pet proof, you have to screw mounting clips into the door frame otherwise the gate will not lock in place, and easily opened. Overall height is very low. My 55 pound hound dog is taller than this gate. I'm sure she could jump over it, if/when she figures out she's capable of doing so.

Terrible! This baby gate is flimsy, nearly impossible to use, poorly built, and smaller than a traditional baby gate. It is lopsided and won’t have all 4 points on a wall at the same time. The measurement ticks on the bar are so badly off that it won’t fit in any hallway or doorway no matter which groove you place it in. The whole thing is just awful. It won’t hold up to anything pushing against it, if you can even get it to fit in a space without instantly falling over.
