This is so cute...its a cat scratcher and ur cat can sleep inside too...i added a blanket inside so my cat has something soft to sleep on inside. And it looks like a log...like cut down tree log on both sides. The outside is layered cardboard so ur cat has a tough place to scratch her nails on. I think its a little big cause i have a small living room but its also big enough to fit my fat cat of 15 lbs to fit inside. The front and back have a thin silky wall with print on it to look like a log. And around the whole thing is cardboard for scratching. Came fully assembled. Just open box. The log print is also cardboard front opening and back. I had said silky...its feels silky but printed on cardboard.

This scratcher became my cats most coveted item the second I pulled it out of the box. He usually loses interest in most things we've gotten him in a couple of days. This if he is not sleeping he is in it, on top of it, or scratching away at it. Hasn't had to be told not to scratch the furniture once, to busy scratching it. Seems really well made, and has taken a heavy use since getting it. I think it will last for a good while to come. If it does ever wear out I would buy another exactly like it.
