I like that it cooks in the microwave like a real egg ( not mushy like the Augeson scrambled version). When I measure it into the 1/4 cup I spoon it in and not pack it so it's not too firm. As I said about the scrambled version it does slightly lose something in the favor when it's dried. I would still recommend it. I season with onion powder, salt and pepperit and use a slice of cheese.

I have only tried these in a recipe and as an egg wash before flouring meat to be fried. It performed well for both (I did use extra water for the egg wash). I have yet to try them scrambled or in an omelette, though. I would say they are a great item to have on hand in case you run out of eggs or for food storage.

Cheap way to have eggs

NCGal83 April 6, 2014

I don't eat eggs. I bought these for cooking and for Saturday morning breakfast for my SO. I made one for him to try and to be honest, I wasn't sold that it was going to actually taste good. It was a weird consistency, but once it was put into the pan to cook, it actually started to smell like an egg. The best part was when it was finished and he tried it, that he said, wow this taste like an egg. Its tasty!

Darned Good Aigs!

charlybelle March 24, 2014

Have tried powdered eggs before and not been the least bit impressed. These, however, are wonderful. Just mix at a 1:1 powder to liquid ratio, whisk vigorously, and use exactly as you would whole eggs. Scrambled comes out beautifully; omelets are just right. You might want to add a little more liquid than called for on the package if you prefer a somewhat lighter scramble... but overall - an excellent product.

Eggs in a Cane

KASIENKA April 22, 2013

The last months I have a curse when purchasing regular eggs , I found couple of little chickens embryos inside the eggs also some from walmart fresh eggs , that it turns me so much that I can't stand regular eggs anymore , still need them for baking and my daily bread , so this is the solution for me , they are tasty whole eggs , in this case you pay $2.8 per 10 eggs so the product is equal to 7 packages of fresh eggs + 1 egg in total of 71 eggs . The best part is that it does not need refrigeration and when opened will be good for 1 year , original closed 10 years shelf life . I use them for my daily kitchen activity and what else to say they are just as regular eggs without anything else added .

Not a big fan of powdered eggs!

joydoctor July 1, 2013

I bought these to have as a shelf-stable replacement in case I run out of real eggs and can't get to the store for more. Real eggs will never be able to be replaced by any powdered eggs, in my opinion, but Augason Farms brand is a reputable company to purchase products from. Walmart usually has a better price on them with free shipping than they do at their website. Powdered eggs are best used in baking, reconstituted with an equal amount of warm water. If you want them for scrambled eggs, buy the Scrambled Eggs Mix.

Most Convenient Eggs

Sunshine October 27, 2020

I truly love these eggs, just add a little water and prepare to cook like you usually do. If you want scramble eggs just add a little powdered butter and some powdered milk to the mixture they are delicious! The powdered eggs are so convenient. I use vacuum seal proportions for home, camping and hiking. Some, I mix for scrambling which I mix before vacuum sealing. Never worry about spoiled eggs.

Great source of protien & much more.

You won't find many foods concentrated with as much protein, & other nutrients as the simple egg. But I just read a review where they save money compared to eggs in stores. Actually that's a big selling point from dry goods. They say it just appears to be expensive because it's in a dry concentrated form, so if you add water & cook, it makes many times more it's volume. Nope. It's not cheaper. They say 71 servings in this can. That 71 SMALL eggs. At the current price, that's about $3.56 a dozen. At my local stores, a dozen eggs go for 79-99 cents a dozen. So you will not save money. But I like having a can around so I'm never out of eggs when I want them. They keep a long time without refrigeration. In the blender, it makes a delicious safe eggnog too. Disabled, I don't travel well so can't get to the store as soon as I run low on stuff. So store-able dry goods delivered to my door are a life saver & keep me living independent. I wish Walmart wouldn't pack everything in one 60lb box. Fed-ex almost always abandons the package way at the wrong end of my building far from my doorstep, in the city where it might get stolen. How is an elderly disabled person gonna haul around a 60lb box? My air conditioner don't weigh that much. Can't unpack it outside because the stuff will get stolen making trips back & forth. Don't they realize the a large number of people who order food online do so because they're elderly or disabled so can't always get to the store? I'd pay a few buck extra to get it in 25lb or less separate boxes. I'm sure the delivery guys aren't happy with a 60lb box either, & bang or drop it around like crazy.

Runner Up

GODyesthatGOD August 3, 2017

Quite good, but not "very good". If you like the least amount of ingredients, then this is what you want. However, the Scrambled Egg Mix is spot-on perfect and noticeably better with even more egg taste...as well as a little less expensive (mine is from 2013). I only had them as eggs on toast and jelly, I didn't make bread or muffins or cakes, etcetera. Just follow the instructions and you'll have perfect fluffy eggs every time, I found them foolproof. Add more water if not a little less than soupy or add more egg powder if too soupy or outright watery...slowly or somewhat thickly dripping off your spoon, fork or mixer paddle seemed perfect.

Last resort powered substance

Mick May 29, 2021

30 years in the military. Marines then Army. I've tried many ways to improve the taste. Milk, butter, cheese. Does not taste like eggs, no matter what. Survival food only. Going to purchase the scrambled egg mix to check the taste. Looking for good tasting, emergency, long shelf life food.
