Patak's Original Major Grey Chutney, 12 oz

We really love the way Patak's enhances the taste of chicken and pork. The mild spicy and tangy flavors profile take savory meat to another level of enjoyment. It works well on just about any bbq meat item including hamburgers. My wife's spreads the chutney onto cheeseburgers then stacks, red onion and tomato slices topped with several leafs of trimmed lettuce. These hamburgers are just the best tasting blending a delicious sweet with savory flavor profile. For the price it's the best condiment to place on your dinner table for family and friends

In British TV shows that I watch, the characters would sometimes refer to "cheese and pickle" sandwiches. That sounded like a really weird combo, so I finally looked it up. "Pickle" actually means "chutney" in that context, and further research frequently recommended the "Major Grey" type. Ah ha! Cheese and "pickle" sandwiches are actually quite tasty!

I needed this for a cheese ball recipe. It did not let me down. It was the crowning touch to the recipe. It wasn't available in the store but was shipped and arrived in timely manner.

I made fresh samosas , and found this was the perfect condiment to make them taste even better! It has the sweet, a touch of heat, and great savory taste. Would buy again!

Chutney is useful as a condiment or prepared foods and as a marinade for chicken, pork, turkey and ham.

There were less fruit chunks that I expected, and the fruit that was in the chutney was large cut which made it clunky to enjoy. Smaller fruit pieces would be better. Also, it was sweeter than I expected, but this is my first experience with this brand.

A decent version of Indian chutney… Of course, not what your mother would make… If your mother was a lovely Indian woman… But decent.

It's sweeter than I would have liked. I'd prefer it to be more piquant. I'd recommend it, with that caveat, and maybe buy it again.
