Spicy, yes, perfectly so. Pricey but this product is hard to find in our area. So we don't use it often. Just for special times. Therefore the 5 here. No expert here, but I believe this product to be very authentic. Took a while to deliver, but it was worth waiting for. I recommend
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This butter chicken simmer sauce was delicious and made dinner quick and easy! I love that it's lower sodium, but it doesn't take away from the flavor. I cooked the chicken and added in the sauce and, with some basmati rice and garlic naan, made a quick and delicious meal!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I shared this with a friend, so I'll include their review as well. I made this in 25min, very quick and easy. The only reason it took 25min instead of 15 was because the rice took 25min. I used frozen vegetables and fake (plant-based) beef tips. And it was delicious. It is mild. But my friend who is much more spice sensitive said the spice crept up on them. I agree, but it didn't bother me. It also took getting to the halfway point in the meal for the spice (hot) to build enough on me to feel it. My friend had been about a 1/3 in before they started having trouble with the spice level. So beware, if you have an extremely spice (hot) averse person, the heat builds in this. I liked it throughout, as did my friend. But someone very averse might have their palate burned out. We both liked the flavor, it went well with the vegetable mix (onions, peppers, baby corn, snap peas, broccoli, baby bok choy, carrots) & fake beef. It was bright (as I would expect from a tomato based sauce), good and complex flavor, not too salty, and overall I would highly recommend.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pataks butter chicken sauce is a convenient, creamy, and flavorful store bought option that brings authentic style, mild Indian flavor to quick weeknight meals. The taste is rich, slightly sweet, and tomatoey, making it a crowd pleaser that works well with chicken and rice.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This sauce was really easy to use. I just heated it, added chicken and ate with a side of white rice. Overall dinner was quick and easy to make. I really liked the flavor as well just wish it would have been a bit thinner.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It has a strong flavor with the spices used but they are definitely mild. I am not familiar with Indian food so I can't comment on how authentic tasting it is but I enjoyed the flavor. You could smell it when opening the jar but it wasn't too strong. It was very easy to make. I warmed up some chicken and veggies, added the sauce to warm up and then added it over rice for a quick and simple meal. I only added seasoning to the chicken while warming it up and cooked the rice in chicken broth, when mixed all together, it wasn't too salty.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This sauce saves you from overthinking about dinner. It comes together so easily and the flavor overall is good. My only observation is that I generally like the spicier version more but in general is a really convenient option.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was good, my husband agrees. This was super easy to cook with and I added extra chicken into it since we’re not huge Indian food fans. The instructions were clear and easy. I was really excited to try something different and it checked all the boxes. I would buy again and try another flavor!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was too spicy for our taste. Not hot but spices like paprika were too overwhelming. We did fry chicken for it to try the sauce since we've never had it before. Wasn't sure the kids would eat the sauce and they didn't. It was easy to use I just heated the sauce on the stove stop. It's a thick texture sauce and if it had less paprika I think it would have been tastier.
The Walmart box that was delivered to my doorstep was sealed but empty. And apparently Walmart will not refund or return this particular item.
