Patons Kroy Socks Yarn-Blue Brown Marl

Lovely yarn ! Very soft and easy to knit ! I was afraid it would be difficult to see the stitches since there is a lot of dark blue and brown, but there is also a lighter blue /gray, so it balances out!

First time using Patons Kroy Socks yarn. It is soft and my shawl is coming along beautifully. Does not split when working with it. I recommend it for more then just socks.

I love making socks with this yarn. It is beautiful and soft in my hands. I make socks for my adult children and their spouses for Christmas gifts. The socks are warm and unique gifts for my family members. They are machine washable and dryable. Perfect.

Almost finished crocheting a pair of Yarnspiration Slip Stitch Cuff Crochet Socks. This is the second time I've used Paton Kroy Sock Yarn and have enjoyed both experiences. Very easy to work with and gives a lovely product with great colors. It's a definite winner!

Can wear multiple times without stinking. Doesn't break. Some colorways are great for everyday socks while others are very suited to outdoor wear due to differences in thickness, for example. I should be a Patons Kroy ambassador because I use it so much!

Patons Kroy is one of my favorite sock yarns. It's a little bit thicker than other brands, so there's less yardage, but it makes up for it with being long-wearing. The socks you make with it are thick and cushy. And the colorways are beautiful! If you have normal-sized feet, the yardage probably won't bother you, but if you have big feet like mine, consider making the heels and toes with a contrasting color.

I consistently use Kroy sock yarn for all my socks and I have been making them for years. Not only this, I have friends who ask for handmade socks whenever they can. Handmade socks make excellent presents. So that should explain the five star rating. A lot of fellow knitters admit to using Kroy.

Kroy is a good sturdy yarn for making socks, although I use it for hats, cowls, ganseys, mitts and so on when I need a machine wash and dry yarn. The multi-coloured striped yarns work up nicely, though won't show up stitch patterns as well as a solid colour; more solid colours would be very welcome.

I purchased this yarn because it is what the sock-along recommended. I normally don't use yarn this light weight, but I've always wanted to make myself a pair of socks (I'm hoping they will fit and stay on my feet since I have a tendency to walk out of my socks and I hate that.) Regardless, I've enjoyed the feel of this yarn and the colors (70's stripes), but I hate the way it seems to split - especially at the most inopportune times (like working a front post treble crochet behind another set when trying to make cable stitches …). It also has random “pills” (fluffy clumps) of yarn along the strand of yarn. I either had to pull them off or very carefully cut them off, so they didn't had extra bulk (once again to my cables). Perhaps this is typical of sock yarn, but I'll be trying another sock weight yarn for my next pair of socks.

Midgade yarn at a mid price point. Slightly thicker than typical sockweight, and I use it frequently for everyday vanilla socks as it makes long-lasting, sturdy socks. One skein had three knots like you might get with discount/mill ends yarn, and it interrupted the striping pattern. Beware one skein is just short of enough for a pair of adult small ankle length socks.
