Fresh Espresso at Home I had the opportunity to try the ethical bean coffee and there are so many varieties it was hard to choose; I chose the whole bean sweet espresso as my first choice. Upon opening, the vacuum-sealed bag emanated the freshness and sweet aromas of what was soon to be a delicious cup of freshly homemade espresso. I gently ground the whole beans with my coffee bean grinder and made a cup of espresso that was strong upon first sip with little to moderate acid and full of deliciousness. This medium roast is vibrant and has notes of chocolate and nuts, and is deep and creamy. If you like your espresso strong these Guatemalan beans can stand on their own. What I loved and found interesting is that ethical bean provides much more than a cup of espresso or coffee, they go as far as providing a scanable QR code on each bag that will give you the details and origin of the fairtrade organic beans. This coffee is amazing!  As soon as I smelt the bag, I knew I was hooked.  It tastes just as good as it smells!  I am very happy I decided to try this coffee out.  Also, it's pretty cool the way you can trace your coffee from field to cup.  Easily by going online and tracing your bag of coffee!!

I found the flavor of this coffee to be deep and rich In flavor with a nice sweet finish. I like it both cold and hot!! Love the smooth taste never bitter. This by far is my favorite ethical bean blends and I have tried quite a few. I originally thought this would be quite strong like the other blends, but it is perfect! It's smooth, sweet, and even gives me hints of cinnamon flavor; which I love to add to other coffee blends. I would definitely purchase again. I love the qr code and being able to use it to find out more details of where my coffee originated. Bold packaging, alludes to the eye opening experience you will have once tasting your first cup. I have been using this for years. I started usin this when I was a hair stylist, and you could only purchase Paul Mitchell products in a salon. I keep my hair short now, but it gives my fine hair body and keeps it in place! Needless to say, for me this is the best hairspray and I love it!

I'm a sucker for a good cup of coffee. Drink a cup or two daily -- and always open to trying new beans. The Sweet Espresso flavor of Ethical Bean, while isn't one of my top options is surprisingly good. Smooth, not too acid. Flavor closer to medium light, than medium dark, but still well-pronounced. The ability to trace coffee's origins is pretty cool. The only negative I see is while there's a "Best Before" date, there isn't a way to tell when the batch was roasted. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion. I made this coffee as espresso using my breville dual boiler. The shot was easy to dial in and pulled like most espresso blend beans and produced a very attractive cup with nice mottling. The resulting cup was very mellow and had notes of chocolate and, most interestingly, heavy cream. Not what I would call "sweet", but a very, very nice shot by itself or in a latte. This is certainly above average for a bean from a large grocery store or supermarket, though it still falls short of fresh, locally roasted single origin beans. I used my smartphone to look up the "history" of the bean and was pleasently surprised to see the origins, varietals, roast date, and other information listed. It was very cool to see the full journey the bean took to get to me. Very unique. As a bit of a picky coffee person, this would be the coffee I would recommend picking up when buying from a large chain supermarket.

I drink at least two cups of coffee every morning. I love the experience of the aroma from first opening the bag of whole beans, to the fragrance as it fills my house while brewing, to the first sip that coats my insides with a promise of a new day. Ethical Bean Fairtrade's Lush Medium Dark Roast coffee is every bit as good as its name sounds and comes in as a close second to my favorite morning brew. . It is rich with a smooth full body, balanced acidity and a dark cocoa/coffee aroma. It makes a luscious, winey espresso and a beautiful latte or cappuccino. Brew this coffee strong and you will be transported to a European coffee shop. Dark, but not bitter. Full-bodied, but not overwhelming. Rich, but not fattening. Love it! The QR code is pretty interesting, it allows you to trace the bean back to its origin. I am not a huge believer in that, as who knows if it is really legitimate, so I did not use it; but I guess for some it would be very interesting. I liked this coffee but I thought it would be stronger honestly because it is espresso. The flavor was great. I was just hoping it was a bit stronger. The fact that it is ethically sourced and organic is a huge win though. The packing is a winner as well.
