I had ordered more red yarn for my blanket. And there was an obvious size and color difference. I set for a replacement. And the replacement was the same issue. For $13 I'm not settling for that lol, I'm going to have to go to the store and get it myself. I'm making a blood of Jesus blanket <3
I crochet a lot of dish cloths and this yarn is perfect. It's soft and easy to work with. The dish cloths are very sturdy. Shrinkage in the laundry is very minimal. I have a drawer full of these in my kitchen and won't spend another dime on sponges. I give them (along with cotton flour sack towels) as wedding, birthday and Christmas gifts. I can generally get 11 dish cloths out of 1 cone.
Made beautiful blanket it took 2 1/2 cones to make.
I love this product and wish it was available in even more colors. It is great for making dishcloths and shower poufs.
Crocheted several long vests using this 4wt cotton yarn and a few bags %26 plastic grocery bag holders, pictured below. (Happy Go Lucky and or Emerald Energy were the other colors used in same Brand and yarn weight.) I like this yarn a lot and the Walmart price is Best!. Its Not just for "dishcloths"...
I bought many colors of this yarn, and I just finished a cardigan for my daughter. It came out beautiful and very soft. I am about to start another one in emerald color for my other daughter.
I have used Peaches and Creme yarns for many years. I use it for crocheting projects for the kitchen. I make dishcloths, baskets, coasters and more. I even have made amigurumi items. I'm sure some may disagree about using it for amigurumi. Peaches and Creme works best with a tapered crochet hook and the recommended hook size. I this allows for less snagging or fraying of the yarn.
The yarn was fine….except a fairly large muddy spot. And it was dropped off at a brand new unoccupied house next door. I had to cut off about 75 feet of yarn to get all the dirt off. The only thing I can think of to try to salvage is out it inside a pantyhose and wash. I was going to return but it required ne to box it up (it was not delivered in a box, only a plastic bag) and to print a label and i do not have a printer. This is why i do not want the Walmart plus. What I am guessing happened is the package got dropped at this wrong address (the bag looked like it had a tear) and it just got left (again at the wrong house). I do not know why. Our mailbox with our address is right across from our house. And this house is obviously new construction and unoccupied.
I was very disappointed when I compared the same yarn I bought in the 2.5 oz size to the large cone. The cone yarn is much thinner and coarser than the yarn that comes in the smaller size. I should have just bought several of those instead of doing the cone. I would not recommend this if you like a little bit thicker cotton yarn. I will say that it is a strong yarn. Comparing the difference between the 2.5 oz skein and the cone size really shows a difference.
I love this cotton yarn and have used it for many projects. One thing I discovered by accident about the Happy Go Lucky color - after spilling my water, is that the blue in the yarn bleeds when wet, and gets brighter (see photo). The left side didn't get wet, the right side did. This photo was taken after it dried. It doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look like it did when first crocheted. So, keep that in mind if you want to use this yarn.
