This is my first mushroom coffee, and while I love mushrooms, I'm not sure that I would love mushroom flavored coffee. Thankfully, I don't taste any mushroom flavor. The coffee is dark and strong, so that may help mask the taste. I have a clever dripper coffee maker. It's a cone filter holder that looks like a pour over maker, but it's got a valve in the bottom so you can let the coffee steep longer before you drain it into the cup. I use one coffee measuring scoop of coffee (which I bought for My Keurig refillable K cup), and I put that in the filter. If I'm using my kettle that has temperature control, I heat it to 180°. If not, I boil it and then let it cool for a little bit before pouring. I've heard conflicting stories over whether boiling water negates the mushroom benefits, but I don't wanna take the chance, because it's not inexpensive. I let it steep in the cone for a while and then drain it into the cup, add some soy milk and enjoy. I don't always get heartburn from strong coffee, but I have not had it at all with this low acid coffee. I wish it wasn't quite so expensive, but it's not that much more than regular organic coffee..
the coffee taste super smooth clean the aroma was great nothing out the ordinary , this is my third brand of mushroom coffee ( tried ryze and four stigmatic) the flavor and body of the coffee to ever try, and must say it was great i like how the milk/creamer held its consistency the coffee, the coffee was not watery and thin it was creamy lots of bold coffee flavor , i personally think its between a blonde roast and a breakfast blend kind of roast not that bitter strong coffee nothing like a starbucks or bustelo . i do think it was better than the ryze coffee because it blended better with the creamer. i tried it both with sugar and without and hot and cold and i really did enjoy the taste every time i did not get heartburn from the acid which is nice on my stomach. i am hoping to enjoy the mushroom benefits the coffee has to offer with continued use i can better determine the benefits.
Ordered one day and delivered the next, I knew right away when I opened the bag that the smell was so nice, you know that the brewed coffee is going to be good. It is smooth and just a pleasant cup of coffee. I now have another favorite to add to my coffee list.
I'm no coffee connoisseur but this coffee tastes very good! I love that my research shows that the mushroom extracts from these particular mushrooms are healthier than the actual mushroom powder. Coffee with a health benefit seems like a win-win situation to me!
Great smooth taste! No mushroom flavor at all. Brewed at the same ratio that I brew my regular coffee and it came out great. No headache, so there must be a decent amount of caffeine. Hopefully it helps with some of the benefits that the mushrooms promise!
I was shocked that it smelled and looked and tasted like GREAT COFFEE, ordinary not weird or anything. If you didn't tell somebody then they would never guess!!!
Smooth and easy to drink. Doesn’t taste overly “mushroomy,” just like a mild medium roast. Nice option if you want something a little different from regular coffee
I usually drink medium‑to‑dark roast coffees and espresso‑style blends with a bolder, stronger flavor, so this was a bit of a change of pace for me. This has a smooth, low‑acid cup with a mild earthy/mushroom note that’s different from my usual coffee but still very drinkable. I can taste a subtle earthy flavor from the mushrooms, but it doesn’t make the coffee bitter or unpleasant... just a bit different than a standard medium roast. If you’re used to regular coffee, you may notice the mushroom blend giving it a slightly earthy, “wellness drink” vibe, but it’s not overpowering or hard to drink. I prepared this in my Ninja Luxe coffee maker, which uses a built‑in metal filter instead of paper filters. The coffee looked good in the cup after brewing, and I didn’t see any oily layer floating on top. The texture came out smooth and clean, and even though I usually prefer a stronger, more intense cup, this was still enjoyable and easy to finish. I kind of wish this came in whole‑bean form so I could grind it fresh for even better flavor, but I understand why it’s sold pre‑ground given the added mushroom ingredients. I like the idea of getting lion’s mane, reishi, cordyceps, turkey tail, and chaga in my morning coffee for potential wellness support, but I mainly chose to rate this based on taste and drinkability since the exact mushroom amounts aren’t specified. It would be great if the brand shared clearer information about how much of each mushroom is in a serving and pointed interested customers to the science behind their claims. Overall, I think this is a good option for someone curious about mushroom coffee who still wants a familiar coffee profile with just a gentle earthy twist rather than a strong mushroom flavor. For me, as someone who normally gravitates toward stronger, bolder coffees, this lands at 4 stars: not my everyday brew, but a smooth, interesting alternative I wouldn’t mind keeping on hand.
I was excited to give this mushroom coffee a try; however, I was a bit surprised. These coffee beans are extremely bitter when you first make it. I put my usual 3 scoops of grounds in a basket for 12-cups of coffee (some call me a lightweight). It was so strong and bitter, I could not finish the pot. I will say now that it's hit the fresh air, over the weeks it has definitely mellowed out. If you love strong coffee you will like it, but if you are a mellowed out drinker, give it time to "steep". Open it and close it back up, is the hint here. The bag sits on the counter next to my daily coffee so I can change things up a bit. I have to admit, the mushroom flavor is fine, but needs a more mellow roasted bean. I am finally getting to enjoy it after several weeks.
Love that it comes ground and smells great (similar to regular black medium roast coffee). Plus it's organic and has healthy functioning mushrooms without the taste of them which is a plus. The coffee taste itself reminded me a little of folgers coffee.
