why did you stop carrying this produce? finally some thing i could still afford, i bought 3-4 bags a month. most time had to wait because of out of stock but still just a day or 2. now again walmart takes away we people want. is it time to stop shopping walmart? boycott? the produce was great, management is not
I especially love the mix this bag has for winter to provide extra energy for all types of birds - jays, flickers black-wings, pheasant, sparrows, and more. I feed twice a day at 2 locations so it would not be cost effective for me to only feed this so I mix it 1/2 and 1/2 with wild bird seed to stretch it. I have a delivery subscription every 3 weeks for both seeds and it seems to work well.
My birds get spoiled. They wait for me to feed them. Everyday. The bird lovers out there understand what I'm talking about. They see , hear me . They know. Food is being served . I'm like Snow White. Not only do the birds sing and swoop Donne as I sing like Aurora . The squirrels , the rabbits. The whole gang is in my yard. Not afraid at all. They know where the good stuff is! Yeah! She's got the good bag! “” Keep it on the DL. Bc the purple headed crackles and all those stray scavengers will get a taste . And you'll have to smack your window or open door to chase them away. You get what you pay for ! This bag is better than the red labeled “ wild bird feed” they'll snub it . Especially after they get a taste of this stuff! Bird Gold Feed .. and more
I said that I would recommend this product but only if you can afford it. While it is not the most expensive out there it is a tad pricey. All the good bird seed is these days. The birds and deer that come to my house seem to like this bird seed which is why I gave it a 4. While it has an okay mix I do prefer others that have more fruit seeds, dried fruit and nuts in them. This also has some peanuts that are not shelled which can clog your bird feeder so you need to make sure you pull those out and maybe toss those on the ground.
After trying several different bands that was more millet than anything. So tried a brand that was full of black sunflower seeds, only to walk out into a sunflower massacre. Black sunflower shells everywhere. But this peanut and sunflower has a perfect mix. It attracts a variety of local birds and the squirrels go nuts ( no pun intended) for the bit we place daily in a pan they can reach.
This birdseed was great, until the last two bags. It used to have pieces of corn. Now it is mostly full kernels. They block my feeders and also are obviously being used as cheap filler, so that there's less of the good food. It is just another bait %26 switch equivalent to shrinkflation. I miss good quality products staying that way.
Sunflower and peanuts is what it's advertised. Then in the small print, it says other seeds. Which means there is a lot of filler seeds in it. I should've read the small print. The birds throw out all of the filler seeds because they do not like it. So I have a lot of waste on the ground. In the future, I will stick with just buying the sunflower seeds like I have done in the past it is a much better value and the birds love the sunflower seeds
Thickness of bag keeps seeds well. The problem is that at least here in San Diego, I left the feed out for more than a month and Not A Single Bird ate it. Birds ate everything I put out for them before this but neither crows, finches, sparrows, pidgeons or mocking birds wanted anything to do with it.
Seed was fully molded ,I should have returned it ! Big chunks of molded seed and the mold was throughout the bag and on every seed . I picked out the chunks and placed remaining seeds in the oven at 300° Fahrenheit for 1 hour, Hopefully the birds will not get sick from eating it. I WILL NEVER ORDER IT or any birdseed online again. Must see product to make sure it is not contaminated.
I had a flock of a variety of birds. I tried this mix and they seemed to abandon me. Then I tried their other mix that was better but very few of them seem to have returned. I wished I hadn't been so determined to keep the price down. I am going back to Walmart today to find some quality seed.
