Get ready to move your feet!
My 9 month old and my special needs teenagers and all of my nieces and nephews have enjoyed this Peg Cat dvd, when anyone starts getting grumpy we can put it in and everyone can't help but start dancing to the theme song! It has been a welcome addition to our dvd library

Fun and Eduational with a side of self-aware
Peg + Cat is one of several high-quality PBS shows that set out to teach something (in this case, math concepts) while having fun. Peg is a girl who plays the ukulele and solves problems with her friend, Cat. She is upbeat, and half-way through a typical episode, she will solve a minor problem and sing the "Problem Solved" song. Then she will use what she learned to solve a bigger problem. A typical episode will also include a moment when characters feel overwhelmed by a "big problem" and have to count down to calm down. I enjoy watching this show with my toddler, as the show is coherent and self-aware. The concepts covered range from counting to geometry, much of the time by finding patterns. The show works on using these various math tools to solve problems.
