The intended purpose of this mat was a liner for our new puppy's crate. Instead, it became a resting place for our 3-yr old of the same breed (Samoyed) to chew on his bones. He is normally not interested in sleeping on dog beds. He chews holes in them. He was instantly curious about the new “thing” lying on his floor and proceeded to plop his body right on it and do his crossy paws pose. The texture is like a soft Brillo pad, not sharp, just more coarse than fleece. The size is perfect. Coda is 80 lbs. Neither pup has been tempted to chew this bed. Win win!! Loved it they cannot chew them up

So far, I'm amazed..

This pad is tough... our little 10 lb. Australian shepherd managed to shred standard bedding nightly. This pad holds together fairly well but he has managed to pull quite a bit of wool fuzz out of it. I like that it can be tossed into the washer and dryer without harming the integrity of the pad. This was the best value for a properly sized pad for our puppies crate.

Good enough if you need something that your dog can't destroy, bit does not offer much in the way of comfort. I would describe it as more of a dog mat than a dog bed.
