Plug and use as expected. Only assemble caster/wheels to base, simple. I liked the trash drawer which to me is it's highlight. How long will it last? Who knows, my last smaller shredder lasted over a decade with occasional usage, I expect this shredder to last just as long.

This machine is incredible. It is not lighweight, so plan on rolling it from place to place. Hopefully, find a spot where you can leave it. It is very high quality through and through. And man, does it shred. It's not fast, it's not slow. But it doesn't get bogged down either. I can put entire unopened letters in it with no problem. My old machine I had to open the letter and feed about four sheets at a time. This is a huge time saver. I can put 10-12 sheets of stapled documents at the same time, with no problems. And the shredded paper is so small, it's unbelievable. Highly recommended

I have had one in my office for over 5 years and it has not missed a beat, so I ordered one for our other office. I wish it was quieter, but I appreciate how it has auto shut-off.

The 10 Sheet Cross-Cut Shredder was easy to put together, very simple, all you have to do is attach the waste bin to the shredder cabinet and voila, you're done. It recommends no more than 10 sheets inserted at one time. I had no problem with the machine inserting this amount. I love that you can have the shredder powered on to the auto position and as soon as you insert the paper, the machine kicks into action. As soon as the sheets you've inserted are complete, the machine automatically deactivates. It has three other settings also, such as off, forward and reverse. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't have a lot of shredding to do at one time or someone who has the time to sit and shred if they have a lot of papers.

I have been using this shredder a lot more than I thought I would. I get a lot of medical letters, insurance letters and stuff like that with a lot of our family's information and it usually just ends up in a pile waiting for my to cut it up before throwing it in the recycle bin. I have been using this shredder for a week and it has taken an annoying burden away from me. I hate having to use scissors to cut up our stuff. I also noticed it has a card slot to shred credit cards or any type of card with your info. It's small enough it fits under my desk at home. I noticed it shreds the papers into fours and not just long shreds of paper. Its really good quality because even though its small it feels sturdy and its super easy to set up. I noticed one of its features is when the paper trash drawer is left open it wont automatically start shredding until you close it. Very cool safety feature! Honestly I think its so cool Im excited to have it part of our little home office!

This is a fantastic shredder.. The shredder is pretty large and very durable as I've been shredding many things with it. It has the ability to shred as many as ten pieces of paper. It also has the ability to shred up to one credit card which is very impressive. The wheels on the shredder provide great mobile access when I need to move it from place to place. The shredder operates in forward motion and also in reverse motion. The reverse motion is used to rectify a paper jam which is very necessary when I am shredding a great amount of paper. This shredder also cross cuts which is a great feature to have when you want to ensure the security of your shredded documents. Automatic position allows the shredder to start automatically as soon as you insert paper that needs to be shredded. The shredder has a great safety feature. It will not operate when the bin is not secured in place. There is no safety feature for children so you need to keep your children away from it. Overall, I highly recommend this pen and gear 10-sheet cross-cut shredder model c206-C. It has everything that you would expect in a high quality shredder.

Firstly I would let you know that this came shipped compactly and very securely on the inside. It is a nice looking machine also. It comes with your basic standard little direction booklet as can be seen in the picture. If one has owned a shredder before then these directions will be pretty commonplace I found except for one thing. This particular shredder says that it can only be operated for four minutes at a time before needing to be shut off for forty minutes before using again. That seemed to me to be a limited amount of usage time verses the recovery time. That is the reason for the Four Stars instead of Five. It has all the functions that one needs including enough power to shred a credit card instead of using scissors. If it should jam it has a reverse button to back things out. The basket that comes with it has a good sized window about halfway up to let you know that it is getting full so that the cutter can work properly. And speaking of the cutter, which is why you would purchase this thing in the first place obviously; it turns my papers into unreadable mincemeat! My old shredder turned the paper into spaghetti that I always thought someone could put together and read if they were determined enough. Not with this Crosscut shredder. All you have left is confetti!-)

The pen+Gear 10-Sheet Cross-Cut Shredder does a fine job at getting rid at countless of unwanted pieces of paper. It's a medium use shredder, but certainly enough capabilities for home use. I did not realize how many sensitive papers I had accumulated during the last decade. As someone who has kept yearly files on all our accounts, it seemed an overwhelming amount to dispose of. Right until the moment I put this unit to good use. 3 minutes of run time might sound minor, but the actual performance proved it is capable of significant amounts of Micro-Cut High Security shredding, not that the Standard is not enough, because it does a great job as well. The Power on/Overheat Indicator helps keep this shredder running like it should. The 4-Gallon Collection Bin I found it very accommodating for the tasks. The Credit Cards, Small Paper Clips and Stapled worked really well. Pulling out the Bin proved to be very efficient, and soon enough I was ready to dispose of a nice amount of critical, now rendered useless, information about my little state of affairs. I am a little disappointed that it never before occurred to me to have a shredder like this one. At the end of the day it made me feel very satisfied that I was able to dispose, and still counting, of so many pieces of paper without building up a sweat. 4.5 Stars.

The Shredder is SMALLER than advertised and the crosscut shredding picks up and transfers a LOT OF STATIC ELECTRICITY to the confetti residue in the residue bin - and when it is emptied, the residue either sticks to the body of the bin/shredder or flies all over the area around the shredder - making a total mess! CURRENTLY LOOKING for a larger and less hassle type of crosscut shredder.

ITEM WAS DELIVERED USED! Box was barely retaped shut, paper shreds in the blades, protective bag NOT on the item and just crumpled up in the waste bin, electrical cord very loosely rewound.
