Pen Gear Mermaid Scale Journal
I got this as a gift Pen Gear Mermaid Scale Journal for a friend's 10 year old daughter who is into playing office and likes purple color supplies and things. She loved it. It's substantially made and looks super cure. The paper is good weight and the construction of the journal is solid.

This looks like Little Mermaid herself would have used this diary. We are so happy to be enjoying a fun, under the sea inspired journal!

Pretty Magenta Iridescent Mermaid Journal
The mermaid scales is a thin material, not thick which is why I gave it 4 stars but the journal binding is good and the color and design is very cutesy and unique so it's worth the purchase.

Not what I expected
This just wasn't what I expected. The cover "scales" are very soft and floppy and I think won't hold up well. The color is much, much lighter than shown as well. I bought it as a gift for a mermaid-crazy friend, and she will still like it, but I wouldn't buy this again if I had known it was poor quality.
