PENN Pursuit® IV Combo, 7' Medium Fishing Rod, 4000 Size Reel

Nothing beats the Penn Pursuit IV as far as value for money. If you don't believe me, ask AI 😀. The 5000 size reel is just perfect for fishing the surf, and it comes with the round grip handle, which is much mkre convenient then the standard handle that comes in smaller size reels. Given that I also got it during a Black Friday deal, I can't really complain. And the matching 8 ft rod has great sensitivity and is my go to flounder rod. This combo kit comes at a great pricepoint. In other retailers, the reel only sells for the sane price as this combo kit, so yeah. Can't go wrong with this one. I am sure it will last for a lot of summers to come, just like previous Penn combos I've had.

Got this for my husband who used to fish since he was little! Since moving to the US he hasn't been able too (8years ago) I know this will be so special and will definitely get him excited to get his license and go to fish. Is his main christmas gift, I'm currently in the process of wrapping it. Can't wait for him to open it! It arrived and it looks good just in the picture, it has bubbles wrap around it which is great for protection. It arrived on time! ❤️❤️❤️

Overall, this is a great travel fishing rod that I can keep in my car trunk thanks to its compact size and high-quality case. The only small drawback is that you need to loosen or unscrew the reel handle quite a bit to fold it down and fit the rod securely into the case.

The Fishing rod and reel looks to be of decent quality. The reel does not have a built-in anti-reverse switch which is typically found in higher-end spinning reels, which omit the switch to prevent failure points and increase reliability so for a budget friendly rod and reel combo I believe that I made a good deal

Purchase for 75 bucks. Went out the following weekend and landed a 35lb Amber Jack. Rod and reel was perfect. The Pursuits are the workhorse line. I love mine.

Excellent reel and rod combo for beginners and experienced anglers. I own 5 Penn reels, had them for at least 5 years and I've never had any issues with them.

Reel is exceptional. The rod seems to handle well. The only flaw is the reel seat is offset (approx 10 degrees to the left) causing the line to constantly rub against the guides/eyes. Very awkward feel bc of it. Will swap it out and only purchase rods in-store going forward. Penn QC is at fault here not Walmart.

I ordered two fishing poles and one of them came without a handle. It was extremely difficult to coordinate a return for the item as I am in a remote location on vacation. I paid an additional $85 to get them shipped Same Day to my location. The Walmart representative I called, in an effort to reduce my cost, asked me to cancel the tip for the driver which I absolutely refused to do. Now I am stuck with one pole without a handle and I will not be able to return it in the given amount of time. At first I was told 90 days which would have been fine but then when I went to fill out a return it was 30 days which I cannot manage. I even asked if I could order another pole and have the driver return the pole with the missing handle and he said no.

Both poles came broken and I'm having a hard time getting my refund. Called them today they said they would fix it. Waiting to see if the refund hits Ina few days. Very disappointed to be honest but hopefully they refund me the other pole. They only refunded me for one of them. I purchased two really shocked both were broken and with no handle!

I purchased this item in August and used it for only a few times, mostly in freshwater. Today, the tip breaks for no reason. The reel is not smooth, harder to operate than my $20 rod.
