For a levelwind reel, it's pretty good... got it for my son for grouper and snapper fishing... reeled in a 9 ft shark with no problem.. very smooth reel..
Very nice reel
Seems like a good reel- smoother then the Penn regular levelwind reels with line counter. I have used it a couple of times already.
This reel exceeded my expectations on the first trip!! I caught my personal best 30lb Scamp Grouper! It preformed flawlessly...
Its good quality and don't break
Really like this item can cast very far with it
I have 3 of these the first 2 work flawless and do great at sturgeon fishing the 3rd has the line counter and it came broken out of the box so I will be returning it but will order a different one
It's not as good as my old Penn 321 which is in my opinion a bette made reel. The Penn 321 only has 12%23 of drag but that's plenty. The Penn Squall 2 20 has 33%23 of drag but who uses that much drag? The plus to the Penn Squall is the weight. It's a lot lighter at 17oz versus 21 oz for the Penn 321 but that's not really that bad cause you're always casting it. No both aren't casting reels but you can cast them.
