I bought these to attract the crows to my yard. I sprinkle them on my sidewalk, and the crows love them! It was the best value I could find for the amount purchased between both Walmart, and Amazon! I am definitely ordering them again.
I have squirrels at my door waiting for me to throw the peanuts onto the porch. One particular squirrel, Nelson, is on my THRESHOLD trying to come in if I don't throw out the peanuts. I am VERY popular with the squirrels here. I also put the peanuts on the rims of the birdfeeder, especially for the bluejays. The bluejays grab them and then tuck them into the lawn, LOVE the fun these peanuts have afforded me!
I’m not sure if these are processed any differently given they are advertised as wildlife or bird food, but they seem to be just like any other shelled peanuts. I started a garden and the birds and squirrels like to help themselves so I created a feeding station in the backyard and they LOVE it. They venture into my gardening space much less often than they did.
My squirrels and blue jays love these!!!! I love watching them search around the yard to find their hidden treats. The peanuts also attract crows, who can be dominant and mean to smaller animals, so I hide the peanuts, out of plain sight, in the back yard for the squirrels and I also put some in the front yard for the crows….they all need to eat ❤️ It’s a pretty large size bag. The quality is good! The peanuts are rather large. I will definitely buy more!
It's not what I think that matters here. It's the birds and other forest creatures that love this black oil sunflower seeds. I have a sugar glider living here in the forest of the finger lakes in NYS. Not a flying squirrel as I thought at first but an Australian marsupial. The opossum is the only native marsupial in America. But I have one I'm teaching to say,Good day Mate. Only kidding and that besides I've fed birds of all types that come looking to eat and socialize with the others. It makes my day. The 40 lbs. size bag fits into two five gallon buckets for safe storage inside. Oh, big 500 and 600 lbs bears like the bird seed too. So if in a forest, be safe. Every creature comes to check out all the different seeds and blends I get from Pennington and the orders I selected here at Walmart and online. Best quality and price!
I get these to attract blue jays. So far they have not discovered my feeder but I used to get them last season with these peanuts. Right now I only see black birds eating the peanuts. I supplement my black oil sunflower seed with peanut because they are expensive. If you are not feeding your birds black oil sunflower seed your not getting the full bird watching experience. I don't even know if any birds don't like it. I do think it's expensive for the amount but that may be because I can get 40 pounds of black oil sunflower seed for 20 bucks.
% pound bag of in shell peanuts. Blue jays love them. Although listed as food for birds, I do occasionally eat a few and they are quite good. The price is very ecconomical.
There is a lot of unnecessary mess in the bags. Empty shells, small shavings of shells that go everywhere when you're getting peanuts out of the bag. I wouldn't purchase them again because it's one more thing to clean up. It's like they used it for filler.
I like buying these to feed the squirrels in my yard. They are so much fun to watch. Most of the time the bags of nuts are a good value, but so far I have gotten 2 "bad" bags. It looks like the bags are filled with product, but when the facility gets to the end of the batch they just sweep the garbage into that last bag. I've gotten 2 bags that were about 1/2 to 2/3 peanuts and the rest is just broken empty shells and powder. There should be some quality control on the manufacturing end to stop these from getting to consumers who are paying by weight for peanuts, not garbage.
I am so disappointed in this brand of in shell raw peanut for birds!! It's a crappy mix of cracked shells with no peanut, broken and chipped so many pieces and far more very small pieces than other brands! Until they do a better product and no more broken empty shells, I've changed brands!!!!
