Pennington Select Birder's Blend, Wild Bird Seed and Feed, 50 lb. Bag

A nice blend that includes all the different types of seeds. Otherwise I have to supplement the cheap blends with the black oil sunflower, safflower, and fruit and nut blends. This is a good all in one. With home deliver you don't even have to lift the heavy bag. Recommended!

Love feeding the birds in our front yard. We have small birds, finchers, cardinals, doves, blue birds, blue jays, and black birds. We have feeders and birdbath. We throw some on the ground underneath the feeder. All of them are enjoying their food. Of course the squirrels come around to steal their food. The birds don't mind a bit. They like to share the food that is on the ground. The squirrels cannot climb up to the feeder and birdbath, which is good, though. We will continue to buy the same brand until then.

I put three cups of seed in the bird feeder each morning. It is all gone by noon. The birds seem to like it. The sunflower seeds are gone first every day. Morning doves and sparrows are the only birds that visit my feeder. I haven't really made any price comparisons but the convenience of order-on-line, delivery to my door is my reason for purchase.

Most low priced bird seed does not have good quality seed and usually has very little sunflower seeds which the birds and other critters love. This product has a high ratio of sunflower seed and lots of other great mix too. My garden birds love it - so do the chipmunks!

Always gets 100% eaten. I have cardinals, bluejays, finces, wrens and a few doves that all come by in the morning. Its a bit messy, but i just rake it up weeekly.

While these seeds are not as superior as are The National Audubon Society's Supreme Blend they are better than what I've purchased from Kaytee and from Supermarkets. As the photo shows, the quality is definitely better than average. Birds are happy to eat them.

In the last two years, birds only seem to eat the sunflower seeds. They used to eat all the seeds. Also find lots of sticks and lots of damaged seeds/dust. Net time I'll buy just sunflower seeds but not at Walmart. Walmart is constantly raising prices...no longer the place to shop.

I mix my own bird seed because my birds will do anything to avoid millet which predominates commercial mixes. I bought this thinking it was mostly nuts as appeared in the picture, but it is mostly millet. I only mix a tiny bit of this in with other components and the birds don't seem to mind too much, but it was disappointing it wasn't what I thought I would get.

We have bought Pennington bird seed for YEARS with not problem. The bag I received today has enough sticks, rocks, and debris in it to practically classify it as mulch!! There are twigs as long as 2 inches long everywhere! I didn't pay for mulch. So annoyed. And of course Walmart won't let upload the pictures to prove how bad this is...

The seed was covered in mold or mildew - not sure which. I just opened the bag because I had not used up my last bag. This is my favorite mixed seed to feed birds, but this must have come from a very old lot!!!! It was the black oil sunflower seed in the mix that was so obviously gray. I wiped one off and could see a black seed under the grey powder.
