I already have one of these feeders and my birds love it. It is sturdy and holds up well. The many different songbirds seem to have no difficulty getting their seed. Yes, the squirrels are able to raid it, but they generally stay with their own corn log feeders.

I don't know why there's bad reviews on this. But I bought one of these on clearance for $20 and glad I did. It's durable squirrels don't bother it because I have spicy bird seed in it. Plus the perch are big enough for birds to land on it. Definitely buying another one!

I love it so much I bought a second one
I love this feeder so much I bought a second one. It took several weeks for the birds to use start using it, but they did they were storming it thats why I got a second one. I tried finch seed that obviously was too big, I filled with thistle and waited. I hasn't clogged and easy to clean.

Only one that has worked on deterrent for squirrels
I tried 3 different squirrel proof feeders before finding this one! The coated dome shape at the top keeps squirrels from gripping it and t h e feeder holes are too small for their noses and mouth to get into. I have had this feeder for 8 years and it has held up through all seasons.

Not nearly the best I've had
I must have exceptionally smart squirrels. They manage to get above the feeder then swat at it, spraying wild bird seed everywhere. They make a royal mess. I have a few small birds who have come to the feeder but the feeders with Pennington black sunflower seeds are the busiest. I wish this feeder would accept the sunflower seeds but it just jams up. I'll continue filling with with wild bird seed but hang it in the woods, away from my lawn %26 flower beds

Easy access for squirrels
Lid does not fit tightly. Squirrels able to lift if off and chew the plastic tube for easy access to seed inside.
