this is a good darker rye bread. if you like rye bread you probably will like this. it's nice and chewy but also kind of airy at the same time. makes great sandwiches, but you have to appreciate rye bread to appreciate this particular bread. bread. if you want white bread you probably won't like this one.
I've bern eating the peperifge farms bread for a couple yrs nuw. I have realized (im a label reader) the difference between another brand pumpernickle and the jewish kosher. Theres no bloat or upset stomach. AND, THERES NO PRESERVATIVES. IT LASTS LONGER THAN THE WHITE BREAD HUSBAND BUYS FUR HIMSELF . PPL, IF YOU WANT GOOD CLEAN FOOD, YOU HAVE TO READ THE LABELS. The rule we went by when we were grueing up, if you cant pronounce it, font eat it.
This is what I call bread. If you've ever experienced bread in Europe. Perpperidge Farm Dark Pumpernickel is the closest to it that is available here in the U.S. Thanks for keeping it in stock!!
A bit pricey compared to regular bakeries but only pumpernickel Walmart has
This brand lacks that tasty robust rye pumpernickel deli style flavor. I'll bake my own from now on. Also I noticed the loaf is smaller but the price is higher.Seems there are 2 or 3 slices less in the loaf.Yes I noticed and find that deceptive. Please fix it.
The beautiful color and perfect shape and size loaf fooled me into thinking this was going to be the real thing deep and rich obviously. Especially Pumpernickel rye. But it was pretty tasteless and and definitely not what I hoped for.
If I could, I'd give -5 stars. I've ordered this bread TWICE. Each time online ad showed in stock; 2nd time ordering I called 1800-walmart checked with customer service rep who verified the Pepperidge Farms dark pumpernickel was in stock - and, yet, again I was let down because the bread did not arrive this morning! When this bread is available, Walmart should deliver it to me FREE OF CHARGE for all the trouble. :-/
WOW I spent over $8.00 on two loafs of Pepperidge Farms Pumpernickel bread. I got two half loaves. Take a look at these images. These are two separate loaves. Both unopened before I took these pictures. The slices are soooo small. Look at all the air in the bags. Now I have bought Pepperidge Farms monthly for well over a year, the other breads from this company did not look like this at all . I love this bread, but now, spending over $4.00 a loaf is not in my budget when I only get 1/2 a loaf and small slices. This is a real problem. SO when you are buying any bread, take a good look and see what you are getting for your money. If enough people brought this to the attention of those who make these and maybe even stop buying this product, maybe, just maybe, these companies would make sure we are getting what we pay for.
This bread was sliced so ridiculously thin that it was actually useless. You can't make a sandwich out of bread this thin. It's wimpy and floppy and bread is the foundation of any sandwich and these super thin slices couldn't support anything. You put it in the toaster and you wind up with a brown cracker. I am fed up with shrink-flation, in other words less product for the same or more money. But this bread was even worse than all the other thinly sliced bread that has become the new normal.
Received this item on June 18th and went to use it today, June 20th and it is already past the use by date which shows June 18th. Needless to say the bread is stale. Requesting a refund on the purchase price to m account for the $4.38
