My husband asked for this item specifically and we started making pastalitos and empanadas at home. We bought the empanadas rounds from Goya which are great but only 6 rounds come in them. This item gives us the two long sheets which work perfectly for both food items we loved to make. We are now going to invest in a proper mixer and make our own dough but with or without mixed this has been and would be our go to. We have tried store brand, other brands and pie creat which all don't fit the bill.
I liked working with this puff pastry right from the start. The sheets are generous in size and work so well with whatever I am making. I much prefer Pepperidge's Puff Pastry to Pillsbury's Dough Sheets which are much to thick yet smaller in size. I see there are other brands of puff pastry, which are cheaper in price, but I'd rather stick with the brand I love.
Follow thawing directions and you can't go wrong; allow to come to room temperature for no more than 40 minutes; easy to handle so far as cutting, filling and rolling up. I use these for sausage rolls such as on favfamilyrecipes dot com, which makes 16 rolls, tasty and filling, but best to eat them while they're fresh from the oven.
These puff pastry sheets are amazing! They make it incredibly easy to make a delicious dessert! They cut easily, bake quickly, and turn out incredibly flaky and fluffy. I love cutting them into squares, baking them, and then dipping them in butter and cinnamon sugar. They are a crowd pleaser and everyone thinks I made something really complex, but it was actually super quick and easy! They store well in the fridge or freezer.
This puff pastry makes it totally easy to craft amazing creations. I make sausage rolls with it and have them in the freezer for fast meals. Make a filling. Roll in puff pastry. . Freeze. To bake, simply thaw and bake. I also cut squares to bake and use as toppers on bowls of soup or stew.
I use this dough, All the time. 🥰❤️. Very easy to work with. Always receive compliments on the texture and the flaky goodness. And the topping are endless. From fruit to vegetables. Take your family cooking to the next level. Try it. They will love it
This is honestly the best puff pastry. I have tried a few brand and this is the best. I made cheese danish with this every week for my kids and they love the crust from Pepperridge brand more than others. I made pate chaud and cheese danish with this. You can make many more cause it's so convenient for dessert and breakfast!
Puff pastry tastes good. I took it out of the freezer, put it in the fridge for 4 hours then unfolded the two sheets and left them outside for 5 minutes. They were pliable and easy to use. 4 stars instead of 5 because it feels fatty, and it feels like an artificial fattiness. When paired with a fatty filling, such as chocolate, it is compounded and not in a good way. It is perfect though for less fatty fillings or toppings.
I usually like anything by Pepper ridge Farm but this one is a no for me. I like another puff pastry dough that Walmart carries, it is tastier easier to work with and priced lower. Pepper ridge Farm pastry dough needs to much before care, you have to defrost it or let it come to room temp before using or it breaks on you, it does not rise really high like the other dough, and it does not taste better than the other dough, mind you it does not taste bad just not as good. And it is more expensive.
At home, we used to be ABSOLUTE FANS of this product, but during the past year or so, the quality has been going down and worse each time. What's wrong? The dough seems to be old and past its prime, or perhaps it is not being kept at the right freezing temperature. It's a shame, and we are REALLY disappointed.
