This item keeps the soil from packing down too hard. Keeps my plants from sitting with wet "feet"- lets the water drain out quicker.

Bigger than I thought it would be!

Perlite is a perfect addition to any potting soil. It acts to aerate and at the same time retain water so your plants can thrive. I use it in my potted plants with the regular potting soil and even put some in my cactus potting soil. It is easy to over and even underwater our houseplants and this helps a lot.

This is a small 1qt bag of perlite, which is used in combination with other organic matter (bark, sand, etc) to make your soil easier to drain.

great stuff had to return but only due to low stocks and purchased at different store.

Price was over three times what I could have bought at Lowes or Home Depot. Very disappointed. Ridiculous price.
