some tools are hard to replace, or work without, and without a relay tester some times your up a creek without a paddle, if you can't test your stuck replacing.

I bought the Performance Tool 3009 Relay Tester after pulling my hair out trying to figure out why my AC clutch wasn't engaging. Normally, testing a 12V relay means fiddling around with jumper wires hooked up to the car battery and probing contacts with a multimeter. This little device skips all that hassle.

its really useful and reliable my car is a 2006 odyssey i whanted to test it out to see if it really works or does its job as it says to be hobest it does tell you if the relays are bad or not i changed the ones that said they were bad and my ac started to work it didn't work before that so the item does what it supose to do and helped fix my check engine as well defently recomend it comes with its own batteries package is really nice if ur thinking to give it as a gift

My son is a mechanic and this relay tester tool really caught my attention as I didn't even know they made them. I know relays always aggravate the heck out of my son. This handy little tester is about the size of my cell phone and is very well made, sturdy and appears made to last. It runs on AA batteries which 4 were included which was really great. No man wants a tool who has to wait to use. It is for 4 or 5 pin, so most vehicles. It has a QR code to scan and is simple to use. Very easy to fit in glove box or tool box. Very good value for the amount of time and aggravation it will save. It states it has a life time warrenty but I haven't read that all over yet. Definitely, a great asset to any mechanic to add to their tool box. Overall, it's definitely high quality and simple to use, no headaches trying to read and understand directions. The only thing that would make it perfect would be a bag to put it in to protect it but I'm sure just straight putting it in the toolbox is what most mechanics do anyway.

The concept is great, and I do like that it runs on AA batteries instead of requiring a connection to the vehicle battery. The pass/fail indicator lights are also simple to understand. Unfortunately, those features don't help much if the tester can't be used on a large portion of the relays you're trying to diagnose. If you work with only a very specific type of relay, this may still be useful. However, if you're expecting a versatile tool that can handle a wide variety of automotive relays, you may want to look elsewhere. I was hoping for something that would simplify troubleshooting, but in my experience, it ended up being much more limited than advertised.
