I bought the SharkNinja RV100 a month ago and I don't know what took me so long. "Mr Sharky," l always wanted a Butler, is better than any human housekeeper I've had. I have not programmed it to my WiFi yet and it travels exactly where it should. It docks itself perfectly. We have 5 rescue cats off our ranch. I was vacuuming 3 times a week for 1-2hrs on laminated flooring...dining rm, living room, kitchen, mudroom and hallways. I never intended for it to vacuum bedroom carpets, they are thick. I can't say enough how pleased I am with the Shark RV100. I BOUGHT THE RV100 AFTER READING REVIEWS....I HAVE NOT BEEN PAID FOR THIS REVIEW.
The best vacuum Ive ever had. I set the timer and it starts the same time everyday. The first week it maps all the rooms it needs to clean then it just cleans. The best feature is is the grid pattern it follows. It will stop every once in a while to reorient itself if a piece of furniture is moved then it resumes cleaning never missing a spot. It also comes with floor tape to block off areas you dont want cleaned. I like this vacuum so much I am getting one for my daughter. My floors have never been cleaner.
I upgraded to the J9 self emptying vacuum from a much older model. I LOVE this one so much and am so happy with my purchase. I love being able to choose a room or rooms to vacuum and what order I want to vacuuming them in. I also love that it self empties! We have 2 cats and a dog and it is doing a great job with the hair.
My first Shark robovac was an R85. It worked well but it has one fatal issue. Long hair. The R100 solved the hair wrap issue. NO issues whatsoever with long hair. My wife sheds. The vacuum just picks up the long hair and shreds it and into the bin it goes. To say that I am happy with this vacuum would be a vast understatement. It works. And it works very very well.Hair is no longer an issue. And this vacuum is much smarter than the R85. If your on the fence about buying one...buy it! It does an excellent job. Shark is the best of the best. Hands down. Those are the only vacuums that I now own. I tried the competitors. Shark wins every time.
We named her Dusty. We have a very sheddy dog, and this Shark picks up TONS of fur and dust on a daily basis. We purchased extra magnetic strips online because we have a giant 10x10 long shag throw rug that it can't handle. We only use for tile and luxury vinyl plank flooring. It goes over the smaller flatter throw rugs fine. Every night my husband shows me what Dusty sucked up and it amazes us both. There is NO way I would want to keep up with these floors myself.
I was skeptical as I did a ton of research before buying this Iq robot andsome of the reviews say it has issues. I have to say, I am much relieved after owning it. It's been totally great And that's saying something as the vacuum we had before was a high end Neato botvac d80 which we had an extended warranty on and we liked very much. This thing is quiet, much quieter than the Neato. It rarely gets stuck on anything ( the neato tended to get stuck semi rarely, but SharkBait gets stuck 10 times less than that. ) Sharkbait has gotten stuck when it got high centered on shoes in my wife's closet and a few other times when things were left out, but even then it usually doesn't get hung up on cords and things. We didn't get the self empty version, but we are fine without it as it saved a good bit of money. It goes over everything twice. The battery life is good. The mapping after a few tries isn't perfect but it's totally usable. We have the map set up for two zones: bedrooms bathrooms and hallway, and a second zone for kitchen dining room and living room. Hair doesn't get tangled in the brush easily but we have three long haired girls in the house hold and the middle of the brush will get a bit of hair in the middle wrapped around. The rest of the hair gets caught in the bin and in the automatic hair cutter part of the dust bin. It's crazy how much dirt it picks up. We have half hardwood and tile and half carpet. Does great on both. It doesn't get stuck on bathroom rugs or going over transitions. I love how it makes straight lines in the carpet. It is very low profile and fits under our bed which was too low for the neato botvac. Cons or suggestions: Being able to make small keep out zones or no go lines on the map would be great. Sometimes the longer golden retriever hair will get stuck in the opening of the dust bin near the hair cutting portion of the bin that runs along the brush. The app could have more functionality. It would be nice to be able to set it to a certain power level in scheduling instead of it just setting itself to normal. ( it has three modes: eco, normal, and max) I think the side brushes would be better if they had little brushes on each side instead of one, like the roomba i7.
Named him R2D2 and Alexa knows its name! Definitely worth the purchase. I have 2 long haired cats and this thing rocked! I also have hardwood floors so dust and hair like to scatter everywhere, but no match for this droid. So glad friend recommended me to finally get a robot vacuum. Does take a few times for it to 'map' the apartment but worth it in the end. I also have a 2 bedroom apartment but not let it go into the bathroom incase the cats miss the litterbox and the vacuum accidently goes over poop/pee.
Pretty happy with this vacuum compared to other vacuums in this price range. I tested out 5 other robot vacuums, including a Roomba, and decided to keep this one because it had the best clearance and hair collection. This was the only vacuum with the clearance and ability to make it on or over our medium pile and shag rags, increasing the areas the vacuum could reach without assistance. We have a shepherd dog that goes through crazy sheds and I have long hair, so what stood out is that hair does not get tangled or wrapped around the brush roll and the opening to the bin was the largest, allowing all the hair to go to the bin without clogging the vacuum. The vacuum is a little loud, although not as loud as the Roomba or a regular vacuum, but for the performance, it's worth the noise. The app is easy to connect to, even on 5ghz, and scheduling cleanings is easy and reliable. The mapping takes several runs and took some assistance to make sure the vacuum gets into areas/rooms it hadn't discovered yet.
The robot cleans, well, but a large percentage of time it fails to finish cleaning. I think when it is low on power it doesn't always return to the homebase and seems to get confused. Sometimes it actually cleans the room. There wasn't designated in other time just stops. Maybe it will get better
This broke down the first 2 months of use and getting it replaced has been a nightmare. DO NOT BUY THROUGH WAL-MART ONLINE AS THEY ARE NOT AN AUTHORIZED SELLER OF iROBOT. They WILL NOT HONOR THE WARRANT since Wal-Mart just allows other sellers to use their platform and those seller are not in the USA. BUY IN STORE OR NOT AT ALL. If you do buy, you absolutely must buy the All-State coverage or you will be screwed. It has taken us 4 months to get a replacement and All-State is going to cover the total replacement since I bought the 3-year coverage.
