This saved me soooo much money and helped with cleaning my cats litter. My cat has urinary issues and this also helped keep him stable whereas the cardboard ones would be soaked due to his need to go a lot. It would cause it to be too soft for him to stay stable on and it would smell. The Cardboard ones should work just fine for anyone with a cat that doesn't have urinary issues though!!
It costs nearly 30 for a cardboard tray with crystals that the cat tracks all over the house. I bought this tray for less than that, it's reusable and I can use the litter I want. Only costing me 5 bucks for a 15 lb bag that lasts about 3 months! It's a no-brainer!
This PET STANDARD Reusable Tray Compatible with PetSafe® ScoopFree® Self-Cleaning Cat Litterbox fits perfectly, and the cleanup is minimal, which is a bonus.
I have multiple cats so it was not going to be cost convenient for me to use the disposable pans. This has been a lifesaver for my budget. I only dropped it to Star cuz the weird magnetic attachment piece. I don't really see the point of it as it doesn't help or hinder the use of this machine. I also do wish there was an easier way to clean the raking mechanism. My cats are taken to it easily and it does work with the finer clumping litters as well but not the chunky stuff. I primarily use crystal litter and only used clay that one time because my kids bought the wrong litter
The piece that's supposed to work with the mechanized rake to move the debris to one end doesn't lift a magnetized cover properly, so the debris does not get disposed of in the little trap properly. Sometimes it sets the counter off improperly.. so in the end, the litter doesn't stay clean as long as the cat will not go in the box for as many sessions as if it were working properly. I do say it is cheaper than the disposable box set which is very convenient, but let's face it. This litter is very expensive. I'm gonna continue to look for one that works. I don't think the plastic is really a factor in the quality of the product. It was thick enough. It's a shame because this should've been a really simple thing to replicate, but the little bar with the magnets on it is not quite the right size and it's too flimsy.
it's better than the trays you buy with the litter. the litter stays pooling in the card board so the plastic help. still just as bad as a litter box you have to change and wash the box about the same and still has to be emptied daily
It does not work correctly and messes up the back end! Where it holds, the poop and pee! With the original box, you had a flap with magnets. This is just a magnetic strip, and it does not work!
The reusable tray fits my Petsafe automatic litter box fine but it does seem to be a little low as when the litter box cleans itself it scrapes the bottom of the tray moving all the litter crystals to the front or back of the tray. I also found that the litter crystals are not as absorbent in this plastic tray and begins to smell. I believe the company needs to make an absorbent liner for the bottom as when I changed it (after only a couple days, the disposable lasts about 10 days) the bottom of the tray was full of urine
Did NOT work with my Pet SafeScoop free litter box. It didn't recognize there was a reusable box in place. I called a Pet Safe representative and they said it was because there is some sort of magnetic strip that not on this knock off version.
There's no space for it to push the waste to the tray. For the waste is way too small. And it makes a mess
