The 3 see through panels let them see out and enjoy the view, while the solid lower half allows them to duck down to hide and feel safe if they get scared.

This was the perfect backpack carrier for my dog. She is a chihuahua/dachshund/jack russell and the dachshund part she has is her long midsection and this is the first backpack I have used that ends up being a perfect fit for her. She rides safe and comfortable. I was very pleased.
