I use them to clamp wood projects together. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
First touch was in Israel, when i work with a guy who have these for a long time, and after all after so many years,it was like new.good job
I have used cheaper copies in the past but the Irwin range which I have 2 of every regular and swivel pad in the range are THE BEST. I am a metal worker restoring Aston Martin DB4/5/6 and have found these on the bench every day.
Irwin in my opinion is the original clamp producer, and they're 11R is the standard in all of the welding companies I've been with. I would definitely recommend Irwin clamps for any kind of job where it needs clamping power.
I use these every day as a commercial framer and these have held up to the test! Best price and fast shipping too. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
easy to find [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
To be fair, I complained to Irwin about the 11r clamps I purchased and they sent replacements. These replacements are night and day difference from the other ones. Much better fit, finish and feel. I think I got some faulty units the first time around.
I've bought and used the 11R for thirty years; the only reason I have to buy new ones is when I loose one. But the last one I bought was a real let down - the jaw-opening is less than half what it was on the previous examples of the identical model. Evidently there's subtle variations in the lever ratios, but here I have a tool with very limited use simply because it won't open wide enough to get on the job. I hope that tool wasn't the new standard, but how do I check new tools when Irwin locks them up in tamper proof packaging?
I bought 2 pair of these made in China copies and they don't open as wide the don't release like the Peterson. All I will say about them is I won't buy any more until they are made right and in the USA
