I crumble these up and mix them with my maltipoo's food. I give her about 2 a day. I was doing one per day, but she seemed to still have a little mucus buildup and two keeps that all away. I've had her for about 5 years and just found this product this year. When I got her, her eyes were so crusted and gooey that the neighbors thought she was blind. I've tried cleaning her eyes daily, and kept up with the care for many years, then I found this product and I don't have to clean her eyes every day or several times a day. I'm not sure why this product works so well, but she's much more comfortable and I do still have some care like cutting the fur away from her eyes about once a week or so, and she does still have tear stains although not as bad as before. The one thing I have noticed most is that although her eyes still tear up, the tears are more fluid and less gooey. She won't eat the treats by themselves, so I do have to mix them into her food, but she doesn't take treats anyway (like 90% of the time). She's a retired breeder dog so she never knew what a treat or a toy was and finds them confusing. Looking at her eyes as I'm writing this, her fur seems to get into her eyes and that irritates them so I think that's where the watery eyes come from, but at least the mucus is gone. It used to build up and almost cover her eyes. I know there is no way she could have been able to see well through all that mucus. Such a relief she's feeling better. The treats are expensive, and that's my only complaint. Maybe the company could stop turning them into little squares and just put them in the form of a powder and that might make them more affordable. Just tell people how much to give their dog in teaspoons (maybe they will read this review). One can only hope.
