Fred my cat, loves it. Wish it came with a remote though. I know, you did not make the toy.
even my lazy cat loves this!
We owned a later model of this cat toy that just had one speed on or off. This model has four speeds (slow, medium, fast and random). Our 2 year and 6 year old cats both love it and tried to carry the feather toy off like a kill. I'm very happy with this toy. It is a lot quiter than our older model which finally wore out... we had the previous one for about 3 years so we got our money's worth out of it.
Our cat is fascinated with this toy. She's an older, indoor cat, so she's not very active but this gets her going a little bit. She'll get tired and lay down and swat at it but then she'll get back up again and chase it. It doesn't get her a whole lot more exercise but she does get some. Also, I don't keep it on for more than 30 minutes because she does tend to get bored and really tired, although, she'll still keep watching it. She also has been rough with the feather but it's not ruined at all. I haven't had to replace the batteries yet and I've operated it several times. I can tell I'll need to replace the batteries soon because it's slower, but not too slow. It's really fun watching our cat play with this so I definitely recommend it whether or not it eats up batteries. It gets out cat active and that's a plus in my book.
The unit only required 3 batteries and one screw on piece. After two days my cats started playing with it, they seemed to enjoy watching it rotate and chasing the feathers. My male cat even plays with it when it is turned off. This toy is definitely worth the money.
My cat loves this toy and will cry until I turn it on. Minus one star because it only stays on for a few minutes and when it is on, it eats batteries. This toy would be better if it came with a remote, or if it could be charged between use. Highly recommend using rechargeable batteries, otherwise expect to change out the batteries 2-3x month.
My cats loved it and it gave them great excercise during the winter. They are quite rough with it and the first toy lasted 2 months and the second one a month. We called customer service and they were very nice and got back to us quickly. Would do business with them again
A great toy from my cats' point of view. They never tire of watching the mystery "animal" move under the fabric cover. They also jump on it, wrestle with it, claw it and chase it which leads to their guardian's point of view: be prepared to replace this toy multiple times. I've had seven or eight of these. Each will last a few months so they're not shoddily constructed. And maybe your cats are more sedate than mine. I keep replacing them because the cats have never lost interest and the activity is great for them.
My cat absolutely loves this toy!! BUT the quality is getting worst and worst and it uses a TON of batteries which gets very expensive on top of having to pay for replacements each time it breaks! Definitely need to find a cheaper alternative. 1st one I bought lasted for 2 months before the motor burned out, but did okay on the batteries, new 3 AA batteries would last about 5 days of regular use. Since my furbaby loved it and was soo sad when it broke I bought her a second one. The second one 1. Came with a really bad quality tarp, its the same print and design it just was stiff and plastic and less like a fabric 2. Battery eating ability of it this time was exponentially higher. We would have to put in new 3AA batteries daily with the same amount of use... (1 day after finally spending more money to get rechargeable batteries motor gives out AGAIN) 3. The motor died in LESS than 1 month! Absolutely Disappointed!
THis item has a VERY SHARP metal wire in the rim of the fabric which broke and cut through....it cut my hand and could have REALLY hurt the animals. The wire is totally unnecessary to the design and should be removed. If you have this item...TAKE THE WIRE out.
