I like this item primarily for the ease of use. You take it out of the box with no assembly required. We have 3 cats and the gate is tall enough to make it harder for them to jump over and the open spaces between the slats are narrow enough that they can't squeeze through. It sets up quite easily, is very lightweight and it's easy to store.

Wanted a freestanding gate for the bottom of our stairs and looked for a while before landing on this one. Many of the gates i saw seemed to be designed for small dogs but i wanted one that was higher than two feet. It is lighter in weight than i would have imagined it should be and the quality is just ok. wood is rough looking in spots but painted over so i wouldnt call this attractive by any means. So far it seems to stay upright without tipping over. Think i would have been happier with it if i didnt pay nearly $60.

This is a very light weight gate that does not attach to anything so it is not anchored which could prove a problem for large dogs. However it is perfect for my small dog. I put it across my front porch steps an she does not attempt to push it down. It keeps her on the porch---our porch high enough that she does not jump off.

Looks nice. It's pretty light, so my Scotties can easily push it aside but it would have to be pretty heavy for them not to be able to. Happy with the purchase though.

Nice build, wood is soft and it is easily scratched. I've had this for a few days and it is already heavily scratched on the bottom. Splinters are a concern.

I purchased for my kitty. Sadly, this is so lightweight she can push it aside. I now need to find something to hook it to so she cannot move it. Very lightweight. Definitely would not work for a strong dog

nice size - fits my doorway. lightweight BUT the top is all messed up. it looks like it was damaged and someone tried to repair it, and they did not do a good job. i guess i will have to sand it and paint it.

Very deceptive picture, you would think it would be a sturdy gate if they have a German Shepherd by it. the gate itself came damaged coming apart on one side very thin and flimsy a toddler can flip it over easily not at all what I expected. I was planning on using it to separate the dining room from the den to contain a 1-year-old in the den and pitbulls on the other side this will no way work in this situation. the one-year-old can get out with no problems. I don't know what the seller thinks it would be able to contain? I don't even think it would work with a small dog they could probably push it with their nose

This is the cheapest gate I've ever seen. The finish is horrible. The hinges are junk. It's so light that our cat could knock it over. We returned both of the gates we purchased the day after we got them.
