LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!! I was sceptical this type of product would work. I could not be more pleased. It has nipped the out of control barking and chasing other dogs and animals in the bud. And, it worked the first day! With consistent training over the last two weeks I have been able to take him to the park. He now walks past other dogs without acting like he wants to attack them.
With this remote trainer I can keep my dog from jumping up on people when they come in my yard.
We think it's great. worth every penny.
First the website should indicate a 9V battery is required to operate the remote. Nor does it indicate it on the packaging. Fortunately I had on on hand after it was apparent one was needed. Second: The sound is wonderful for her ears and not mine. She perks up each time she hears the noise. I reward her with a small treat. It wasn't until we went for our walk the next day that I was able to try out the "N" part of the remote. I use it together with the words (not new to her) "leave it." It appears to work just find when on a busy road and we are on a sidewalk. However, we live in a condominium atmosphere and golf carts, Fed Ex and UPS trucks are about and close to a walker where there are no sidewalks. For the record, she is a Dingo, rescued street dog for 2 1/2 years from Puerto Rico. I am her very first owner. She has come along way however when her mind is set on the nasty golf cart, etc. the remote will not work. Period. She tunes it out and is completely focused on the "nasty." Overall I would recommend the remote. Its effectiveness will depend on the mindset of the dog to begin with and of course utmost patience with the owner/handler with teaching.
This device works well, but I have one well behaved dog, and a very energetic puppy. If well behaved dog is in the vicinity when I use it, she becomes very timid and afraid. I will continue to use this, but I will be limited to using it only when well behaved dog is far enough away to avoid hearing the sound.
The device works well though I use the positive button more as a gentle reminder than a “click”. The device would benefit from an on/off switch as it is too easy to trigger it when picking it up. Also it was difficult to install the battery as the space between the circuit board and the fixing screw was too small - the battery had to rest on the end of the board.
I am not crazy about this product for a few reasons. 1. The "positive" tone sounds like the warning tones of yard fences and training colors. So it's confusing to the dog who has been trained on these products. 2. There is no off button, so you can put the remote in your pocket or purse for fear you'll unknowlingly set depress a button. 3. The buttons are the same color gray. I would suggest green and red or something for older eyes to be very sure.
Hurts my children's ears so no point having this. The positive tone he was interested in, and the negative tone worked about half the time.
there needs to be a disclosure on the item details when things are sealed in such hard plastic leaves u can't open it even with a knife but maybe a saw would work
I'm extremely disappointed in this remote. I had high hopes for it, but it simply does nothing!
