PetSafe Freedom Aluminum Door for Dogs & Cats, Medium, White

2nd door purchase, great product, easy installation. My senior dog needed a bigger one. I put the 1st one in 2014. It would've still been there, but my Buddy's hips aren't so good. Put in XL door, easier on him. Not thrilled with the new latch, but still a win for all of us.

Rosie and Lucy our white labs love their new door. The older door also from your company lasted over two lab lifetimes a bit over two decades. It finally wore out and we got the new one. It is well made and easy to install.

quality would have gotten a higher rating if the nylon screws that were included did not break easily. The cat and small dogs easily figured out how to use the door. The larger dog fits through the door just hasn't mastered it yet.

We love our dog door. I always buy the Freedom Aluminum extra large size. I do not like the newer covers that seal the door off, I liked the white metal ones much better. I'd love to purchase the white one if anyone knows where to buy one at?

I purchased this door to replace a Petsafe dog door that I purchased 18 years ago and moved from it's origianal home in Virginia to our current home in California. It held up well but eventually replacing the flap just wasn't enough so I replaced the door.

I purchased this xxl door for my 2 Great Danes. They fit through the flap, no problem. One was a little afraid of the flap noise, but we're working on training her to use it. I installed this door myself, and while it required some additional tools, it was easy enough to install. I did not appreciate the plastic screws that seal the frame to the door, as they were easy to break. The flap does hang loosely, so a strong gust of wind could blow it open, but there are magnets on the bottom to help prevent this a little. This is likely an issue with the larger door sizes, since the flap is larger and catches wind. Otherwise, the door is as expected, and comes with a plastic closure to seal it at night from inside.

Though this product does function, they include Plastic screws to assemble this product. Plastic!!! If you purchase this, you will need to get metal screw replacements in order to make this work. 3 of the 4 screws snapped when trying to affix the door. What a waste.

I think this would work with most dogs, but my two German Shepherds tore off the plastic flap within 24 hours. I had to go to the hardware store, buy some heavy duty hinges, drill holes through the metal door, cut out a thick plywood door to fit the opening, and attach it with the plastic flap screwed into the wood to help with the seal and cushioning.
