PetSafe Panel Pet Door Insert, For Dogs of All Sizes, Durable, Paintable White

This was a replacement of an old doggie door. I love this doggie door so much. It keeps cold/hot air out. We run a dog rescue and it get used ALL day in and out, in and out and held up for YEARS before needing to be replaced. It was simple to change out. Love it

Anyone with basic home repair skills and the few tools required can install this product. My dogs were using it within hours of being installed.

I like the door but you can not buy replacement parts that break hinges for the flaps, this would safe us a good bit of money and time to replace the whole door it takes about an hour to replace the whole door. Need to be able to buy just the hinges.

Overall great item. better than expected. fit my 3' door perfectly. looks amazing installed. its hard to make that first cut into a perfectly functional panel door. But once you decide to start, the install is super quick and straight forward. My dog and my girlfriends dog were using it within minutes. My cat cat is even able to use it without issue. My only problem with is it lets cold air in and its hard to secure. the cover they supply isn't secure nor is it realistic to put on nightly. i may use it if i go out of town. if there was a lockable flap option I 100% would've opted for it. Bottom line i knew it wasn't lockable so the air flow is the only issue. 4 1/2 stars if i could.

I have had this door for several years and it really improved the appearance of the back door. Some of the hooks needed to snap the hinge pieces onto the top of the frame have snapped off and the log sections have cracked near the middle. When I ordered replacement flaps I expected to get the mounting hinge piece with them. Not so. Now I am struggling to get those parts. Help!

I am not impressed with this type of pet door. I had the extreme weather door in my last house and even this one has its flaws which are the exact same flaws I have with this panel pet door. there is a 3/16” gap on one side of the flaps (on the right side looking at it from the inside) which allow COLD wind and water through. At first I thought it was a defect with one but this new panel door set up it's the exact same problem. Also, one thing I noticed awhile assembling on door after cutting out a huge section on my panel door is that when you put the PetSafe panel pet door on your leaving a huge area on your door uninsulated, the plastic framing is just hollow, resulting in allowing a lot of cold to penetrate through. PLUS the magnets that hold the flaps shut really aren't strong enough. The wind flaps them open allowing the cold air flow through, and when my animals walk through them the flaps don't shut right as well. I really wish there is a an extreme weather insulator for this panel door set up. For now I'll just have to use Ultra-Fin Pile Weather Stripping to seal off the gap issue and hope that keeps the cold winter air out so my furnace isn't running as much

This door was great until the black part that attaches the flaps to door breaks. Pet Safe doesn't sell replacements for this part or include them with replacement flaps so my only option is to buy an entire new insert.

I love the idea of this door but the brackets that hold the plastic flaps on only last about 3 months in the south. Then the flaps fall off and I have a huge hole in my door. They are very hard to replace and you have to order a whole kit of stuff not needed. The plastic cover does not seal well and falls off constantly and the tabs break. Need a sturdier set up that is easier to fix and need a metal Sliding door cover to go overwhole thing to fix when not in use. Also the magnets on the bottom of the door open ing come off too easy

Do NOT purchase this dog door. Whoever invented this clearly has never actually used it. If you are never needing to close the dog door to keep an animal in or out, then it's great! But if ever need to close the door then stay far away from this one! It's a cheap SNAP on door instead of the obvious slide on that is easy and works well. The cheap snap on barely snaps on! And like others said, a slight breeze will blow it off. I hate that we wasted our money on this very defective product that we are now stuck with.

Total junk and waste of money! The magnets are a joke.
