I buy maybe half name brand and half generic/store brand items. Philadelphia cream cheese is one that I always go for the name brand. I've tried the Great Value and other store brands by themselves and in recipes and they just don't work as well or taste as good. Consistency and flavor are perfect - it's "The" cream cheese IMO
This is the best cream cheese! It's great on bagels and I make cream cheese icing with it by adding an 8oz pack, a stick of softened butter, 3 cups powdered sugar, and a tsp of vanilla extract. If it's too thick add a little heavy whipping cream or half and half, tablespoon at a time. :)
This stuff is amazing and good...let's get into it....I love cream cheese and this is the best for sure...I base my opinion on facts not just because I think so...check the ingredients and compare to the other cream cheese brands...im big on as natural as I can get when it comes to my food...trust me you will benefit by spending a few cents more...what is your health worth, I know mine is worth more than a few cents.
I bought the spread cream cheese for my bagels for years thinking it was better, I don't even know why, lol! One day I sent my boyfriend to pick some up because I was out %26 he came back with the kind in the block! Instantly I said you got the wrong one! So anyways, I used it since it was all I had and wow! It's SO much Better! Texture, taste, everything! I've had to get other brands a couple times because they were sold out, and I'm telling you, Philadelphia cream cheese in the block form is hands down the best! I eat a bagel every morning and go through a lot and will never purchase another kind. It's also SO good with their cherry cheesecake recipe they have! My mom makes them every Christmas and it's become a tradition:) I highly recommend!
I've always loved the flavor and texture for death cream cheese. I choose to purchase it at least 98% of the time even though it's some stores it's more expensive and when I do recommend cream cheese for a recipe, this is the cream cheese and I choose to recommend.
Philadelphia cream cheese is the only cream cheese I like honestly I tried getting the cheaper brand ones and to save money and see how it went but they are texture is just off and it just not break down the same as the regular name brand Philadelphia and this is the only one I'll get from here on out
I just love Philadelphia cream cheese. I have a good recipe. Two tablespoons of cream cheese. Two tablespoons of creamy peanut butter. One ripe banana. Smash the banana with a fork. Then mix everything together. Eat on bread or just eat dat out of the bowl, and enjoy.
This is a very good tasting product that has been on the market seemingly unchanged for many years. It is adaptable to a variety of recipes to which it will provide a unique flavor and texture. You can substitute it in a recipe that might call for sour cream for a different texture. It is very good in deserts. My favorite is using it in peanut butter pie. It is also good in Mexican food recipes.
I buy Philadelphia cream cheese for cheesecakes and other specialty baking. Generally, it's the brand recommended in recipes, so I haven't ventured to try generic cream cheese. Philadelphia works well! It's a tried and tested product that has been around for many years.
Philadelphia brand has always been consistently good. But it seems that the texture has become much softer than it used to be. It still tastes great, but I miss the firmer block that didn't cling to the wrapper when you try to cut some off.
