I looked at the working TVs for sale and found the one I liked. The price was good because of Black Friday sales. I found the screen was cracked when I took it out of the box. I returned the TV to Walmart and got a replacement immediately and without hassle. I love the TV (no complaints whatsoever).
Love the product didn't even know they made an Android TV not happy with FedEx and their delivery no phone call no note was told I had to be there to sign for it I live in an apartment building with at my daughter's and they left it at the front door Leaning up against the wall. I hate FedEx. I actually live in Nevada and I hate them there too.
Great picture but the thing has a few irratating quirks that I wish I had known about and I would not have bought. First is system sounds can not be turned off so it dings at every click of the remote. I called support and they were very good but had no fix for the sound issue. The remote is cheap and clicks like a mouse at each button press. Bluetooth garbles sound so can't use it. The tv just comes on randomly so support had me turn off several of the features to prevent it. It has a few other minor flaws and I wish I had spent a little more and upgraded.
Bought as an upgrade to a 47" Panasonic not-so-smart TV, the initial setup was pretty easy. Then the pictures issues started: there's a noticeable line going across the bottom quarter of the screen, when the Philips logo comes up on start up, there are vertical lines in the white part in that same area (the bottom quarter) and flickering and flashing - again in that same bottom quarter of the screen. 40 minutes with Philips Customer Support, 2 restarts and a factory reset, plus unplugging and restarting a couple of times, no difference. See photo taken today 10/03/21. It's got to go back. On the plus side, the sound quality is good, but even better with my added soundbar (Bose).
The good part, it was inexpensive, but maybe you get what you pay for? With internet the picture is good, not exceptional, just average good. With an OTA (over the air) antenna the picture quality is bad, washed out, lots of square pixels, nowhere near as good as a non-smart TV. Not sure if this applies to all ANDROID TVs, but this one does not recognize any USB input - you have to download a media player and use it to find USB inputs. With 'normal' TVs you can just plug a USB into the TV and select the USB input! I could live with the quirky USB issue but the OTA picture is so bad that I am going to return the TV. If you only use cable or internet it is OK but not exceptional!
Lots of annoying features: doesn't re-acquire broadcast signal if weak (must scan daily), can't get rid of notification beep, doesn't go to digital channel without hitting "-", e.g., hit 7, does not go to channel 7-1, multiple ways to access settings but each setting has a different menu, "prev ch" doesn't work.
The TV came to me with the box destroyed which told me that the TV itself would probably not be in good shape. The TV had a crack across the front of the screen. I scheduled a pickup and no one showed up. I had to reschedule another pickup. Not a good experience.
Picture quality is not good. Returned it same day as delivery. My 7 year old 4K Vizio's picture way exceeds the quality of this one. I thought for sure it would just be better because it was a newer tv. Yea, that's not the case. Spend the extra $50-100 and get a different brand.
absolutely worthless TV. I had to pick it up bring it home and set it up in a 55 inch TV is not light I'm older and disabled. physically the TV looked fine. but it would not connect to the internet I have had three other TVs connected to that internet no problem. I'm not exaggerating, I spent 4 hours on the phone with Philips customer service they could not help me and tried to insist that I had changed my password. not true works on the my other TVs and my phone will connect to my Wi-Fi. I'll probably never buy another Phillips TV. I can say one good thing though about Walmart. they issued me a refund over the phone and said I could keep the TV or dispose of it. it's of no use to me but at least I can get another TV I just won't get a Phillips.
Don't waste your money on this tv. We bought this online from Walmart. It worked fine for eoughly 2 months. Then it started diaconnecting from Wifi. We had a different internet carrieir at the time so we thought it might be that. We went as far as switching carriers. The modem with the new carrier was even within 20 feet from the tv. Tv still disconnected from wifi. I chat with Phillips about this. They say to dosconnect from the wifi on the tv, reconnect, then let them know ofnthis fixes it. Nope. Then they say to factory reset. That doesn't fix it. Then they say to connect to the tv via ethernet or move the modem within 15 ft away from the tv. Now this is ridiculous. I am jumping through hoops with a modem that I have now moved 12.3 ft away from the tv in the middle of the room. I can not take it back to Walmart because it has been over 30 days. I am stuck dealing with Phillips. So Phillips tells me to warranty it l, I have to jump through more hoops which includes uploading pics of my receipt, the front of the tv, the front of the tv on, the back of the tv, and the label. Guess what? They keep rejecting the pics! Tje fact that they will not take the online receipt is absolutely ridiculous. I even did a screenshot off the Walmart app as proof of purchase. The rest of the rejections as ridiculous too. I can clearly read the label but they reject it. The basically got us for $300 because they have no intentions of helping with this.
