Great product!,

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Coffee tastes great, it is really easy to use. A little noisy, but I think that's fair to have freshly ground coffee

Philips Morning espresso

lillytee February 4, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Philips-Series 1200 Fully automatic expresso machine is a coffee dream machine. The instructions are a little tricky if you're new to the whole espresso machine experience. I got to say this machine saves me money being able to make our own espressos and coffee to our liking. The frothing part can be tricky to get your cup out if it's too tall. So we just hold it and do it at a slant and wait for the recommended seconds. There's many styles of coffee you can make with machine if you follow the proper steps. Once I got the hang of using it. I'd never want to go make to the older style ,plain coffee machine. You can also use grounded coffee in this machine. The expressos/ coffee taste so much richer than other coffe machine. I love the clean taste and the flavors of the coffee naturally come out. Loving this machine!

My coffee machine by Phillips is the best!

Drew time June 21, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This espresso machine is incredible! I have had others that don't compare to this one it's so simple, small, and grinds coffee so quiet, The steamer makes the cream so thick it's delicious. I would highly recommend this machine there's nothing wrong about it.

Great Coffee, but like a high maintenance friend.

Espresser January 10, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I understand that this product is sold worldwide but the instructions could have been a bit more clear. The unit sets up pretty easily and after the break in, makes great cappuccinos and straight coffees. I prefer to use distilled water for a cleaner taste although the instructions recommend using tap water with a purchasable (not included) filter. The unit provides, so far, consistently good tasting coffees and I understand the need for it's self washout after each one. This consumes water that collects in the drip tray even though I use a small cup to catch the dispenser flow. I like that the unit has a puck cleanout alert, because I make a lot of multi shot coffees and cappuccinos and don't want the spent puck cup to overflow. The water reservoir is large and easy to see the level and refill. There is easy access to the Brew Group and it cleans out fairly easy. I do it once a week and hand wash it and the drip tray also. The milk frother works wonders and is easy to clean and creates excellent milk foam. During the weekly Brew group cleaning, I go over the interior of the machine with damp paper towels to get the accumulated grinds and have a fresh area inside. If you use ground coffee, don't forget to clean out the ground coffee port with a damp paper towel pushed through with the measuring scoop tip. Be careful when emptying the drip tray, the waste water could easily spill and make a mess. Don't wait for the warning light to appear, empty every other day to avoid an accident. Overall, I have sidelined my Nespresso and now the Philips is the primary coffee machine. It has already paid for itself in not having to go to a shop and hope that their product turns out as you wanted. We look forward to using beans to evaluate the ceramic grinder, but am confident that it will please also.

Great Consistent Coffee Every Time

Vpengpol January 28, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The espresso machine consistently brews an espresso each and every time. The espresso and frothing feature is a lifesaver. The set up of the machine was easy to follow along. I didn't find the water filter in the box, but just purchased a set on my own. Tried the coffee beans and it didn't work as expected but wasn't sure if was due to a user error. Will try again should I find myself with grounds. I am using whole beans at the moment.

Coffee is good but the machine leaks water

AnnaH78 January 1, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Water leaks each time you make a coffee. And it's very loud. Otherwise the coffee is good

Looks Good Online, Disappoints in Use

Brewtally Honest May 14, 2025

Overall, the Philips 1200 is just okay — certainly not in the same league as higher-end brands like Jura. Despite multiple attempts to dial in the grind size (finer, coarser, everything in between), I could never get a proper crema. Eventually, I had to accept that this machine just isn't capable of producing it. The espresso consistently comes out watery and under-extracted, as though the machine doesn't use enough coffee to pull a full-bodied shot. Ironically, cheaper pod-based machines like Nespresso actually deliver much better flavor and crema. Build quality is another major letdown. While I expected plastic, the feel and appearance are cheap, especially the drip tray and water tank — nothing like what the product photos suggest online. Honestly, I'm left wondering if many of the glowing reviews are from people who received the machine for free. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this machine to others. If you're serious about espresso, look elsewhere.

Problematic From the Start

CoffeeLover24 April 5, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The system is constantly having issues. We saw the red issue light more often than the white good brew indicator

Really Disappointed in Phillips QA/QC

coffeelover12 May 10, 2023

Coffee machine catastrophically failed on INITIAL set up. Flooded my countertop and down to my dishwasher. Causing electrical issues with my dishwasher now. If you want to get an appliance that you have to involve your home insurance within 10 minutes of owning...this is the product for you. I'm so let down.
