I love this natural teat, This is so comfortable and this comfort petals and natural nipple shape allows natural latch on and makes it easy to combine breast and bottle feeding. The range offers different flow rates for the most comfortable feed. Overall very good product and comfortable.
I was so excited to start my breastfeeding journey when my daughter arrived, but it didn't go quite as I had planned. I planned to exclusively breastfeed for at least 3 months but it took a very long time for my milk supply to come in after my daughter was born. Luckily, I had some bottles on hand but she always had so much spit up with the bottles we were using. My daughter is currently 4 months old and we still use bottles for supplementation. She still has a ton of spit up and gas after taking a bottle. We tried this Philips Avent Natural Medium Flow Nipple and my daughter took to the nipple just like she always does. This nipple has a swirled type design inside the nipple that's different from other Avent nipples that I have seen. When I burped her she had no gas and absolutely no spit up the first time we used this nipple! That was a first! We have used it a few times and she still barely has any spit up and minimal gas if any. My daughter still prefers a slower nipple, not quite sure why but we love this style bottle nipple! It's great to have a variety of these bottle nipples on hand since she's growing so fast and her preferences on nipple flow will change. Thank you to weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me this bottle nipple to try and review! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
My baby loves these nipples! I am a full time mom and my husband and parents watch my son while I'm away. I pump at work and they feed him my breast milk during the day. We have tried 4 different types of nipples and bottles and these are the best! My son is never very picky and will eat our of any of the bottles, but he fusses much less with these nipples. My son is 4 months old and he now prefers the medium flow nipple. He sometimes gets gas, but very little when we use the Philips Avent nipples. The plastic is very soft and has a natural feel. My son has no trouble switching between these and the breast. On the inside of the nipple the plastic is molded in a swirling pattern which I believe adds to the milk coming out smoothly. The nipples have numbers on the side so you can tell easily which rate of flow they are. It is nice for us to have a few different flow nipples to grow with him as he grows. These Avent nipples came in a nice plastic case, I'm not sure if I would reuse it, but it was nice to know it hasn't been touched and possibly damaged by people looking at them in the store. Overall a fantastic product. Baby, Daddy, and Grandparent approved! Thank you to weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me these Philip Avent Natural Medium Flow nipples to try!
We are a mixed breastfeeding/bottle feeding household, so it's been a huge concern that whatever bottles/nipples we use for our little 4 month old won't lead to any nipple confusion or bottle battles and there are so many options available today! These nipples are an ultra soft and flexible silicone and my little one latched right on the first time with no problem, better than with our usual bottles even! I was concerned that since she was used to a flatter bottle nipple she would struggle but she did great with the round natural nipple. They are super easy to put into the lid and snap into place so you know they are sealed and won't leak. They have an anti-colic system built in which means no extra parts to clean and no gassy baby! Our only issues with these nipples were our little poky eater just wasn't quite ready for the faster flow yet and when she'd get to the bottom of her bottle, the nipple would get pinched off since she's an upright feeder. These will be great as she starts to eat faster - thanks weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this bottle nipple!
Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this bottle nipple for my baby girl to try. When my baby latched on to this nipple it was like she was latching on the my actual breast. The nipple is well made and is sturdy.I like the fact that they simulate the actual breast even though they are not newborn size. I felt like the flow was a nice natural pace as it did not seem like my baby girl was sucking too slow or too fast; she did not get choked up and she did not even have to produce a burp. If you are looking for a great nipple that acts and look like the breast, I highly recommend this product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I was given the Philips Avent Natural Variflow Nipple to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. I am a first time mom and had been using the nipple that originally came with my first bottle for 0m+. I hadn't even thought about increasing the nipple to the next stage. I should have switched to a faster flow nipple sooner now that I see how much easier it is for my daughter to drink a bottle with this nipple. At first I noticed that she wasn't used to getting milk as quickly and she had to adjust to how she would swallow or her mouth would just fill up with milk. She was able to master that within the first week of use. She had no problems adapting to the nipple itself as it's the same size as the previous nipple I had been using. We haven't noticed any stomach discomfort such as gas while using this nipple. Trying out this product has opened my eyes to other flows and updating nipples as she continues to grow to ensure she's getting milk at the proper rate for her age.
This was the first time using any Philips Avent product, and I was really impressed. I was a big fan of the wide nipple base. I was previously using bottles that came with my breast pump which have a small, narrow nipple base. My little one was constantly collapsing those nipples during feedings because her mouth would go around the entire nipple all the way to the cap! The Philips Avent Natural nipples never collapsed and her mouth fit perfectly around them. The medium flow nipple is perfect for my 5 month old. I'm so glad that there are different flow rate nipples available for my baby as she develops. I would definitely recommend this product to expectant parents. Thank you weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this product to try and review. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I am a nurse who works overnight in the hospital. My six month old baby is breastfed and nurses while I am home but occasionally drinks breastmilk from a bottle. Out of all of the bottles we have tried, the Avent natural baby bottle is our favorite. I like the wide nipple on these bottles that is a more natural shape comparable to a mothers breast. My baby has never had a problem drinking from Avent bottles and nipples. When my baby was ready for a faster flowing nipple than the newborn one that came with the bottle, I was not sure how fast of a flow to purchase. I did not want to waste money purchasing different flows to try. I also did not want to guess and buy one that was too slow or too fast. The variable flow nipple takes away all of the guess work in choosing the correct flow nipple. It is the only nipple you need. Depending on which direction the bottle is rotated you can increase or decrease the speed of flow. Before trying the variable flow nipple my baby was using a stage 2 nipple. On the variable flow she is also happiest drinking with the nipple in the 2 position. When the bottle was turned to the 3 position my baby started to gag due to the flow being too fast for her. I love that later, if she decides she wants a faster flow, I can simply rotate the bottle to provide that. I previously had a different brand of bottle where the vent was on the bottom and could easily get covered when holding the bottle. These do not have that problem - the vent is always clear. I would also say the anti-colic vent works because we have not had any problems with reflux or gas lately. The only negative I can think of for these nipples would be if your baby feeds themselves. You have to position the bottle a certain way to get each of the 3 different flows and keep that specific spot at the top of the bottle to maintain the flow. This would be challenging, if not impossible for a baby. I highly recommend these nipples when your baby is ready for a faster flow. This eliminates all of the guess work out of choosing the correct speed and you can make sure your baby is getting the perfect feed every time! I love a product that can grow with my quickly growing baby. Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this bottle. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
As a working mom who needs her bottles easily washed, leak-free, and easy for my 4 month old these nipples passed the test....almost. As a mom who struggles with her little ones acid reflux I give these a 3 out of 5. Granted not every child suffers with this messy and expensive issue so I would like to also point out the redeeming qualities of these bottle nipples. I received these bottle nipples from the Weespring parent panel. The Philips Avent Natural bottle nipples were for a 3m+ flow but were a little fast for my four month old. This could have made a difference in the amount of spit-up and gas and I would like to try the slower flow nipple to compare. He did have less spit-up than other nipples but still more than the usual bottle nipples we use due to his acid reflux. He was able to burp very easily after, but there was a bit more gas even though there are built-in air vents in the nipple on two sides. The increased gas could also be due to the faster flow rate than his usual bottle nipple. I liked the thick texture of the BPA free material and they were very easy to clean. The selling point to me was the ease of the latch he had on these. It is very similar in shape to the natural breast and he latched very wide and easily so there was less leaking. He also stayed on and did not let go throughout the feeding and also less readjusting from me throughout the feeding to make sure he was taking in less air. Pros: thick material (didn't feel cheap) BPA free easy to clean burped more easily after great latch no leaking Cons: 3m+flow was still too fast for 4m old more gas than usual bottle nipple not great for acid reflux in our case due to increased spit up [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
As the working Mama to three breastfeed boys, I have had several different bottle brands for my boys to use while I was at work over the years. None of these was ever Philips Avent, so thank you weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me the opportunity to test this bottle. The bottle has three, easy to assemble and clean pieces, that were well constructed therefore did not leak. I have to say I was intrigued to see if one nipple could have variable flow rates. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it did work! Please see photos of different flow rates which is achieved by simply rotating the bottle. This would be great if you have two babies using different flow rates as you would always have the right nipple. Unfortunately my little one was not a fan of this nipple at any flow rate (he is a picky boy, this just wasn't for him). Also, I found interesting was the manufacturer recommended changing nipples every three months for hygiene reasons. At that timeframe most babies are ready to change flow rates anyways making a variable flow rate nipple unnecessary. As I only use bottles for one baby at a time with only breast milk I didn't find this feature for me, but if you doe need a variable flow nipple it absolutely does work.
